Comic Books

/Revives thread

I've started reading some comics recently as I didn't really have access when I was younger, and I must say I'm loving it.

Currently reading Superman (My favorite hero:p:D)

All-Star Superman (by Grant Morrison) and Red Son (by Mark Millar). Two of the best Superman stories ever told. And I don't even like Superman.

What else are you into?

Its a good time to start. Most of the DC titles are starting new stories (Arc's) soon. Batman looks like it should be cool. Will be going into the origins of Batman. Also look into Justice League contains all the big names (characters) and DC is also throwing their Big Names (artists/writters) at the title.
Marvel is also rebooting its titles but it feels like it was just following DC's success of the New 52 reboot. Anyway its a good time to pick up some good titles.

Yup.

Only thing that I don't like there is the Justice League. They were handled terribly by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee. I dropped it with issue 14.

I know it's an old title, but how many of you guys and gals have read Preacher? It's the best thing that I have ever read in comic book format.

That is on my 'to-read-list'. I buy long running awesome series in trade, then read them. Just finished all of The Boys, now moving onto 100 Bullets.

I haven't read 100 bullets, that's on my to-read list :D

You have to read Preacher. It's 66 (plus 10 odd special) issues of pure, creamy awesomeness.

Preacher is high on my list. I love Garth Ennis' stuff. If you like that, get The Boys. A masterpiece.

Yup, Garth Ennis is my favourite writer (mostly because of his work on Preacher and The Punisher), just in front of Grant Morrison and Neil Gaiman (I love Sandman too).

I didn't realise The Boys was Garth Ennis? Gotta get that too :D

The new Gods amoung us comic tie in with the game is pretty cool. Hectic and interesting storyline so far!

Yeah, get it. The most absurd stuff happens in there. 72 issues/12 trades of Garth Ennis goodness.
Did you know he has a new limited series called Red Team that started last month? I picked up the first issue. Haven't read it yet, though.

I was wondering about that.

ok so a few days ago I was given a few free issues of XO- Manowar and I have to say despite the publisher being obscure
the title it self is great , the artwork although different ( i feel the colors are too muted) is good and the story is just plain great .

On the other hand I got myself a copy of Judge Dread year one , which isnt exactly what I expected it to be but , i was kinda thinking its going to be more about the first days and how he became so bad ass, but it stead he already is badass not that thats a bad thing

but I highly recommend it .

Dude, I love Valiant Comics. They closed down in the 90s and now they are back. Check out Bloodshot, Harbinger and Archer & Armstrong if you can find some more Valiant comics.

Ja, I heard about that... I'll check it out once it's in trade.

It might be old news but did you guys hear Joe Mad is gonna do a few episodes of Savage Wolverine coming out in June/July from issue #7 i think.
The guy has such crazy talent just wish he would play games less and draw more.
