Dota 2

I love that we have a server now, but I keep seeing the same people over and over. Which leads me to believe we have an incredibly small player base. much less than I originally thought.
I know this doesn't tie in with anything just wanted to share my thought

Well I am not fond of the SA players at all. Racism if they loose and swearing its just terrible so I play mostly on the EU servers....

I suspect not many select the SA server only (Me included). It takes too long for it to find a match, so I select EU and SA, but it rarely connects to an SA game. I will use SA only once it doesn't take 10min to find a game.

I have to say I also get upset and sometimes swear but some of the SA players are just plain racist, loud mouth, idiots.
I have the SA server selected but I mostly play EU. Even though some of the russians are also tards, they still aren't as bad as some of the local guys.

I must be lucky then because most of my games, not all though, are relatively quiet. My two main gripes with the server and the community is that the match making takes for ever and I'm probably going to sound like a douche but, I can feel myself getting worse because I'm playing against lower level players. I win, but it's not fun. The reason I don't play on EU is because I play with friends and some of them lag too much on EU.
 
I dont mind much the players or what they say but every f***ing game someone picks drow/riki/sniper . It was the same in vanilla dota, it gets boring beyond belief.

Btw when you get to higher levels there tends to be less dicks, people actually start playing properly.

weird that you get more offended by other players choices in characters than what they say. Why does it bother you so much what other people choose?

I think he's commenting more on the lack of diversity in the players on the SA servers (the "playing with the same old people and their same old heroes" argument).

That's only when you find a match quickly. As it stands with the SA server, the matchmaking takes so long that the range of skill you get matched with is so wide that you can easily get match with someone with 1000 games along side someone with 2 games. So at this stage it's pretty much random.
 
Well guys. This is not a trolling comment. But I have to say this.

I played dota for more than 6 years and got quite good at it. I played on the twilight servers and I jammed dota 2 till my eyes bled. But it came to a point where I realized that this game was complete poison to me. First off, the people who you play with online have the foulest mouths that I've ever seen or heard. The verbal and psychological abuse that you end up ingesting from this game and the people who play it is utterly ridiculous and you need to have your head scanned if you think it's "okay" to endure that.

The other thing is, Russians ruined it for me. I know I'm generalizing (and I apologise) but I honestly could not stand their mentality and attitude towards this game. Feed - feed - feed - insult you - leave. Over and over again.

Then the last straw. Looking at the amount of hours I've played the game made me realize the amount of time I spent playing vs. the amount of time I actually enjoyed the game. I struggled to remember the last time where I enjoyed the game and didn't feel "crap" afterwards. Winning or losing - the hatred from other players just made me feel crap. And then I asked myself, was it really worth it spending this much time on a GAME that is supposed to be fun and relaxing? No way in hell.

I've stopped playing the game completely for months now and I have to say that I don't miss it at all. Not even a second. It's a brilliant game (I still love it to bits) but you have to understand that the people playing with you are not worth your time. I'd go as far as to say that the majority of people playing Dota are 10 times worse than the community for Counter-Strike. And that community is notorious world-wide.

It bothers me a lot what heroes other people choose. In fact it spoils the game for me when I see the same heroes and setups over and over again. Maybe I've played the game too much, I don't know. When you've played dota as much as I have ( from around 2007 there ) then you will understand what I'm saying.

As for the swearing and hate and whatnot , I don't care. You can swear and insult me as much as you want, as long as you play properly I'm happy.

I don't watch tourneys - boring as hell.

@Saint_Dee No I wasn't referring just to the SA players. I play on international servers only, our community is too small.

Lol why would this be trolling, you are right on the dot. Dota gets very competitive quickly, just like many other games. And the Russians, oh man even being Russian myself ( well more english now ) I can't stand those guys. Verbal abuse - fine. Ignoring your advice - fine. Playing rambo and not contributing to the team - no no. I've met a few nice Russian guys who play very good, but thats very very rare.

Can I just say that Silencer is incredibly op. If you have a team that protects you...Oh my gawd he can pawn :eek:

Haha that's the case for any carry isn't it? (that is if you want to play Silencer as a carry). But yeah his potential and scaling to late game is perhaps a bit too good.
The thing is he can become a carry just by roaming and contributing to kills. That is, if your team can find kills. Otherwise you're pretty weak late game.

I've been playing with him a lot lately, last 5 games I played with him total stats:

Total stats:

83 Kills
10 Deaths
146 Assists

None of the games lasted more than 35 Minutes.
I had the most kills, least amount of deaths, Highest XP per min.
I got 1st blood in every game, I was the highest level every time.

He is way op.

I only have two other hero's that have better records than that and that's Spirit Breaker and Faceless void.

Im sure I could get more kills by playing Sniper or Drow Ranger but I'm not a bitch lol

Oh and I am def not pro I think I'm lvl14 now which is pretty poor compared to how I played the original Dota, logged more than 1500 Hours on it lol

Sounds like we can kick some ass. I mostly play support.
Add me if you would like to get a game going, I'm always looking for more people to play with. I don't really solo queue anymore. I just don't enjoy it as much.

The thing that sux with matchmaking alone into a random team is, you get stuck with retards 90% of the time.
Luckily I have around 40 mates that play Dota so almost always have a full team of people that I know.
Busy teaching my Girlfriend to play now as well :)

For me this is a risk you take if you play with randoms, nothing pisses me off more than someone claiming they are "pro", and they going to report someone on the team because they are a noob. 1. if you so good, surely a proper team wants to play with you and you don't need to play with randoms. 2. You not helping, why not take the time to help people who are making mistakes.
