Top 5 recommended GPUs

As per usual, you don't have a fking clue what you are talking about dude. I don't see how these here people think you are the Hardware guru, because put simply, you're not.

THE 5 best cards on the market.

1. S3 Trio 3d/2X (AGP)
2. Arktek 512 EISA
3. ATi Rage Pro 8MB
4. Creative Voodoo II 8MB
5. Matrox Millennium G200 8MB

You have been schooled.

Apart from the first 2 cards, I am able to run Need for speed 2 SE on full detail, while using a full 16Bit wallpaper for my desktop. Beat that.
Very good sir. Can confirm on basis of ownership.

hmmm...nothing but Nvida. no stats or benchmarks for each card? very poor article which sounds more like a sales pitch.

Well 1st things 1st, I am really disappointed in the incredibly small amount of effort that was put into this, can't exactly call it a article or news...or anything for that matter. Its also incredibly biased just putting Nvidia cards on the list.

Hi guys, please note that this list is based on the editor's picks from very respectable hardware review site Tech Powerup.

We set out to find the top recommended cards, and that's what came of it. The fact that it is all Nvidia has nothing to do with a choice made by MyGaming other than to use Tech Powerup as a base.

As for benchmarks, etc - Tech Powerup conducts in-depth reviews of the GPUs - far beyond anything we can do here at MyGaming. Hence why we cited the source, which seems to have been missed by a number of commenters on the article.

In light of the Nvidia-only list that was generated, we have a plan to do a top recommended AMD GPUs as well.

I have an MSI 7950 3GB Twinfrozr, it retails for a few hundred above the 7870... I would consider that one too!

techpowerup are incredibly biased.
Its almost never a good idea to use them as a base to work from.
I get what you guys are doing and I understand that the funds and hardware and obviously time wasn't available but you have some members on here that know what they are talking about, that do have the fund and hardware, maybe not the time xD and they will gladly help out. I really don't mind giving my opinion and I will gladly provide actual proof as to why I claim certain hardware is better than other hardware.

Yes I know I def don't have the writing skills to write my own pieces ect. I will gladly help out with anything hardware related.

Edit: I would also gladly do some of the research for you guys. Free of charge from a hardware enthusiast who only cares about performance.

Edit 2: @TBlaar Absolutely correct, utterly brilliant card, just hard to get stock right now xD

I'm interested to know on what basis you say TechPowerup is biased as I refer to them often as I find their reviews thorough and informative. Perhaps there is something I'm unaware of behind their reporting.

On another note, we don't just rattle off one article without considering a broader reach. To this end we have already considered doing similar articles that cater to different price segments.

Well here you go

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_670_FTW_Signature_2/32.html

Read through that, then read through this.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/HD_7970_X_Turbo/33.html

Both cards cost close to the same price.

The 7970 Ghz is a hell of a lot faster, performs better (this still under old amd drivers) and it still scores a lot lower.
That is just one of many many examples I can use. I don't have time to go through all of them but be my guest, go read through them and you'll see the AMD cards almost always score lower than the Nvidia cards.

Its not just on Techpowerup (I actually enjoy their reviews, I still prefer them over tomshardware), that's why I don't bother with reviews anymore, I review the stuff myself.
Its the same with Toms hardware, they are so intel focused, they almost always have negative things to say about AMD. Even when you prove them wrong with actual proof that they fucked up in a review, you get your post deleted and or banned.

Edit: I was just trying to help.

Cool. We are going to cast our net wider in future to draw a better overall summary of the best kit out there.

For the recommended AMD GPU's we will stick to TechPowerup because we've created that base for the preceding article.

That's perfectly fine.
I would really like to help though. So if you guys need help or info or need some research done please don't hesitate to ask.
