Maybe a tiered system where the RRP of a prize is taken into consideration?
Something like:
Prizes < R500 = Sit out 1 competition.
Prizes R501 - R1000 = Sit out 2 competitions.
Prizes R1001 - R2000 = Sit out 3 competitions.
Prizes > R2000 = Open for all.

Maybe it should be done the other way around, teeny prizes gets a massive pool of entrants, big-ass prizes gets a teeny pool.
 
Am I the only one not receiving thread subscription emails? I haven't received them for about 2 weeks now. But on Tuesday/Wednesday, I received like 80 of them at once:eek:

It's probably going to happen again sometime, which is quite frustrating.:confused:

the blog system needs moderation imo, as it looks like its being abused in a way to get leaderboard points, just an observation

We blogged on MyG before it was cool:cool:

This maybe the most insignificant observation, but has anyone noticed that MyG's forum background (CoD: Ghosts) has a trailer button (or illusion of one rather:p) that doesn't work...

Saw that last comp ........ 1 joke as a blog is fucken bullshit and a blatant abuse. Blogs are supposed to be interesting ffs.

Anyways, I find it hard to post anything past the 4 blog posts I already have, as I kind of feel like the feature has no real exposure, Graal raised this once and I think James is probably figuring something out in that regard.

I think the hidden nature of it kind of creates the environment where someone might post random stuff that others might feel isn't blog worthy, since they'd be assuming not many people are reading the blog posts anyway

I don't really see what the point of the blogs feature is to be honest. Perhaps I'm missing something.

I get what you're saying and I agree it needs more 'exposure'. It just jerks mah chain when you can have blogs by Graal and yourself and others that make the effort, even knowing that it won't get out to too many people and then along come narbs who make it tacky and pathetic because the new system at MyG calls for it.
 
Good observation; We could enter blogs into a moderation queue to prevent abuse. I'll look into that.

I'm trying to put together a list of fixes for the forum to get the developer working on. The thing is to give them as many fixes as possible at once.

Broadly speaking, so far I have:

Fix the blog layout
Fix the default theme problem
Implement Google powered forum search bar.
Fix the activity system layout


Suggestions welcome, but don't suggest sweeping UI changes and complicated systems, those simply won't happen - I'm talking tweaks to existing systems and bug fixes.
