Steam game gifting & trading :)

Guys, I think I know why we get entries from people who are not active and why it will be difficult to stop. I've got two entries in my latest giveaway. Neither of them read the description and I don't know who they are. I see though that they are both active at SteamGifts.

I think the chances are very good that they just went through the list of giveaways like normal and entered like normal. Not even realizing that it's a group giveaway. I did the same recently. You belong to the group and it shows up in the normal list of entries so you just enter as many entries as you can. Chances are that they don't even know about this thread.

I think you're right. I wonder if it might be a better idea to create 'invite only' giveaways and then just post the links here instead.

That's a good idea! I will make my next one an 'invite only' giveaway and see how it goes. I'm waiting for the Steam Summer specials and will buy one good game to give away.

No. Once the invite link leaks out anyone can enter. You can't enter a giveaway from a group if you do not belong to the group. You won't even see that giveaway in the giveaway list unless you belong to the Steam Group.
 
I agree with Friedpet, only the myggorup, but we need to be selective as from now who gets into the steam group. I don't mind if a random from myg wins it, as long as it is an active member.
 
Sounds like their are a bunch of peeps in the group that aren't actually part of this commujity.

It's completely safe; the steamgifts site doesn't actually get your steam login info, it gets a generated code. All your details are secure.

"By signing in through Steam, steamgifts.com will be able to identify you within the Steam Community and retrieve your public gameplay information (such as stats and achievements).
Steam will not reveal your username or password to this site, rather a unique numeric identifier will be shared. You should never enter your Steam login credentials into a third party website"

Also, if these random people are joining the giveaways from the Steam Group page, why don't we just keep the giveaways in this thread? That way they won't be able to access them as easily.

Should my next giveaway be "Steam Group" or "Invite Only"? Of course the link will be posted here anyway, but which is better for 'security' reasons :D
