MyGaming suggestion box

We have to make do with the standard vB implementation of such tools to avoid forum issues with plugins etc.

This has been evidenced with our recent SNAFU on the Xbox 360 competition, as the activity system is a 3rd-party plugin - an update broke it. However, it adds such value to the forum that we decided it in particular was worth the risk. We will learn from the mistake and be more careful in future.

Thanks James. That's a bit unfortunate. Makes the ignore function seem fairly pointless to me.

The forum button on the front page has disappeared.

It's there but not visible. Looks like they have too many menu items and not enough space.

Edit: The guy updating the front page still needs to remove the old search function, then it will fit in again. They are busy working on it.

My default Bookmarked button is set to the Forum and not the main page, so I don't have this problem.

I really want to fix it. It's toying with my mind. There's a problem and I can't do anything to help fix it and I've become so used to clicking on that button that it just feels wrong going to the MyGaming page.

Oh noes. Got to hang on until tomorrow.

So I just got onto MyG for the first time this weekend, noticed the Forum button is missing and came straight here... seems like the topic has been handled already, so good... I won't mention anything about it :)

I also noticed it this weekend :/ We needs the forum button back.

Yes, the achievements system has gone haywire post-update and the developers are working on it.

As for the missing forum button, it's because of the new Google custom search, and it will be fixed ASAP.

Dankie James!!!!! :o

James is there any way to enforce people writing comments or select from a drop down menu as to why a rep point is given.
During the comp times I notice that I am getting rep points for things that don't necessarily deserve a rep point and due to one of the ways that you can move in to the top 25 rankings by giving out rep it kind of feels like its being abused rather than serving an integral part of the forum.

Just a heads up, your wish has been granted ;)

I always thought it was how many lives you have left. You drop one for every reprimand by the mods, you get one for every 20 reps given by peers. When you have zero left and get a reprimand: *BOOM* Ban-hammer time.

This was in response to Vampothic's query regarding the green stripes under our usernames, I think his take on them could be an interesting thing to implement (if possible of course :p), this is a gaming forum of course :D.

Probably an "out of left field" idea, but just throwing it out there...

Screw you, maybe I don't want to write a comment, maybe I just want to give you rep...

Does a beggar ask you why when you give him a handout? No. He says thank you. :p

Having said that, you make a valid point.

Is the activity points working since my activity percentage hasn't changed?

Yep tested it and definitely not working at all.
