Thread of PC Woes, Troubles, Problems, and Issues

Cool, just wanted to confirm that the entire software is on the server.
Sometimes the user installs an interface to lessen load on the server.

Anyways, from what you said, the freeze occur after the query.
Can you see the query log?
A log would help greatly (just don't post it publicly :p) to see if the query had anything to do with the freeze.

It could be that the user created an invalid/erroneous query, and the software didn't catch such exception.
If you could duplicate the query, run it under another user account to see if it freezes.

Funny you mention that, the program itself doesn't exert any crash logs etc...

Definitely not an ID10T error it just looks like the machine itself isn't willing to accept the program while it's running even while we shut everything down.

Not sure if Windows error report is of any help.
But when you end the program via Task manager, try end the task in the "applications" tab.
If it is truly freezing, Windows will become retarded and ask you to search online for a solution. From there, you can manually get the error report and investigate.

Did you try to reproduce the error with another user account?

Guys, I have a very very weird issue on my PC. Some days I can play games for an entire day without issues, then again, sometimes I get BSOD issues, the display "breaks" as in, it looks like everything went static, sometimes even with a static sound coming over the speakers.

I have tried a different gpu, different RAM, reseated my CPU, reinstalled windows, installed the newest drivers etc... When this occurs I have to reboot the PC to solve it. Sometimes I have to leave the PC off completely as it keeps on doing that.

Sometimes when this thing happens I get a little popup that says "Skype has stopped working", not sure if that is relevant in any way.

Any advice?

Well considering what you have tried already, it would seem to me that your motherboard is on its way out.

You could also try another psu, that's quick and easy to test if you can get one somewhere.

Grab this:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

It'll display all the BSOD dumps into something more meaningful.
Track down the source of the file that caused it and see if it is hardware or software related.
Can also post screen of the dump here if you need additional help.
:)

Thanks all for the advice. The pc was acting up something fierce this weekend so I decided to run a memtest. I wanted to change the boot priority in the BIOS as I wanted to boot from the ISO, but I then noticed that one of the CPU cores was disabled. This kinda raised red flags for me. As soon as I enabled the core the PC just BSODs on startup.

I have a suspicion that the mobo and/or CPU might be fubar :(

So... The suppliers changed out the RAM modules, but I am still getting errors and crashes :( I told them to exchange everything, because it is clear to me that they have no damn idea where to look for the problem

Why did they swap out the RAM?
Didn't you tell them (from your previous post) that the MOBO/CPU is the problem? :wtf:

They ran a test on the RAM and picked up some errors (which in all fairness is grasping at straws IMO since all RAM will have some errors)

I did tell them that the CPU/mobo seems to be the problem. Yesterday when I took it back for the 3rd time they told me that they will run a "Pressure test" on the mobo and CPU... (Hell what kind of pressure are they talking about? 3Bar?)

Pressure test? O_o
Is it not called a stress test?

For your sake, hope they don't intend to jump on it :p

Haha, that was my exact reaction! They came back with a diagnosis of a faulty GPU, which they are replacing under warranty. Somehow I think I might end up with a new pc if it continues like this...

Any reason why one of the "clip in" pins on my stock cpu fan wont clip in? all the others clipped in perfectly?

with regards to the clips...
don't you guys hate how often a little part of your pc is faulty and it causes such a 'mission' to get that new part?

+1 to seeing the future for me! They ended up replacing the RAM, GPU and motherboard, all under warranty :D

Is it the an Intel or AMD stock CPU cooler?
If intel: make sure you are clipping them criss-cross style. Else it could become unbalanced and the last one fails to clip. Turn the clip 90 degrees to the opposite direction of the "lock" and retry pushing down the pin.

If AMD:
I have no idea :p Been a while since I put on a stock cooler for AMD (their stock is pretty crappy)

Nice - got yourself a new rig!
Did you have any EOL component that they upgraded? :D
