What is the best game you played but didn't enjoy?

Two games that comes to mind in this category is:

Deus Ex Invisible War - After the absolute magnificence that was Deus Ex the first, I felt horribly disappointed at the game. It didn't capture the same magic as the first game, but still critics gave it very high scores.

Battlefield 3 - I'm probably going to geek-hell for saying that, but I really did not enjoy Battlefield. Yes the graphics are good, yes the multiplayer seems fun, but I've never had any good experience with the game at all. Which doesn't make me all that excited about the next instalment as well.

I'm with you on BF3, bought it on pc special and played it for week and then got over it. BF4 will be a pass

The AI/guidance seems a bit overbearing. At times I feel like telling it to f off and let me play.

Totally agreed...

I became so bored with 2070... There was just something about it that stopped being fun as well, but I couldn't put my finger on it. It seemed huge and as though it had so much possibility... And then it became tedious and unfun and uninspired and just MEH...

I'll tell you what it is. Uplay, no I kid that is not the real reason. Just my personal pet peeve. The problem with Anno 2070 is that it feels like a series of escort missions. Fetch this data logger from there and deliver it there. Now build some stuff and take the data logger to the next location. It's plain horrible.

There seems to be a lot of people here who didn't like BioShock. BioShock certainly was a step down from the System Shock series, which it was supposed to be a spiritual successor to. I didn't mind the first one too much, but BioShock 2 was definitely overrated I think. It felt more like an expansion than a proper sequel. Haven't played BioShock Infinite yet.

OpFlash: Dragon Rising was one. That was quite a let down if I'm honest. In fact, I didn't really like the original OpFlash that much either. Always preferred the first Ghost Recon.

Far Cry 2 comes to mind as well. It lacked a lot of the suspense that the first game had, and not to mention it wasn't related to the original in any way apart from taking place in a jungle. That was it.

This thread feels like a confession. I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't enjoy mainstream titles.

Whenever I don't enjoy a popular game I always think that I'm going through gaming burnout when in fact...

I just don't enjoy the game :/

Battlefield 3... was just meh for me. Most of my clanmates are at level 100 or close. I uninstalled it at level 19 if I recall correctly.

I also have to jump onto the BF3 bandwagon. The graphics are superb. The campaign was boring for me but pretty to look at. The effects and sound are also really awesome.

The multiplayer wasn't my cup of tea. I really enjoyed BF2, BF3 just felt different and less fun. I got to level 30 something and stopped. Jumped on recently to try the CTF game mode and just got spawn killed with the crossbow all the time...

Borderlands without a doubt.
I'm not sure what I hate more. The repetition or the infinite respawns of some enemies.

Anything Call of Duty after the first MW (Single player campaign). I think "tedious" best describes it. It is a brainless grind from set-piece to set-piece.

Borderlands1 and 2.
I'm finding Final Fantasy ARR a bit boring as well atm (i like letting my skill speak instead of the amount of time i played)
Dishonored
Batman: Arkham Asylum, was atotal bore fest.

Metro: Last Light got pretty high review scores and I just didn't enjoy it.

GTA 4 was overrated- it was a great game, but it didn't deserve all the 10/10 reviews it got, I didn't enjoy it as much as San Andreas.

I couldn't even finish Diablo 3 and Dishonored, I don't think I'll ever play them again since GTA 5 is here:D

Halo (all of them) is another I'm gonna add to my list. And also COD: BO2. ANd GTA4, the main reason I'm not buying GTA5.

Borderlands 2 I agree with, I really enjoyed borderlands 1. But 2? not so much, it was pretty much the same as 1. And I had played one to the point where it was really boring (For me). 2 didn't add enough to make it feel fresh. On top of a co-op game, that you require to be within 5 levels of your friends? After a while it was impossible to play with my friends because our character were so far apart in levels.

I'll have to say just about every MMO I've ever tried. I start getting bored within the first few hours and can never find anything that motivates me to keep going. I also don't like any of the Elder Scrolls games, mostly for the same reasons, I just find the quests and the combat tedious.

Guess I may as well add Dota and all Dota clones as well, much as I've tried, I just don't enjoy those games.

+1 i could also never get into those games
