It's um, rather small.
Post a pic of your machine!!
For my instant coffee needs I have Nescafe classic but what I really enjoy is the filter coffee stuff - particularly enjoying HoC Mocha Java at the moment. For me my appreciation of decent filter coffee began when my wife and I visited Beaver Creek coffee farm on the South Coast. There I also learnt that the darker the roast (the stronger the taste) the less caffeine there is.

I've also heard that espresso actually has less caffeine in it than filter coffee because caffeine takes a while to dissolve, and with espresso, you blast the water through at high pressure, but with a percolator, it just drips through and the caffeine has more time to dissolve in the water.
Both are very interesting posts. If true then an espresso is in order more frequently and also possibly explains my preference for the darker roast. Nice one.
I am happy with your father's findings.
/heads off for Moar coffee
