Coffee drinkers unite

I bought a Seaco Syntia last year and have not looked back since, built-in grinder and pure heaven from there.

How many cups, that differs daily, but I would easily estimate 4 to 8. Take my coffee away and I'm useless.

I currently get my beans from DeVillies Chocolate outside Paarl. They roast the beans there so it is always fresh, much better taste and far better priced than what you get at the shops.

i cant start my day without a cup of coffee. In winter i dable between 4 - 6 cups a day and in summer i just need the one in the morning. if i could i would buy coffee from Seattle all the time but its so expensive so we settle for Douwe Egberst or Jacobs (which ever one is on special that month when we have to buy coffee). i also have a coffee machine at home but its just way too much effort to make coffee in there

I love Nescafe Decaf, drink 2 cups a day. In the morning and night. Actually not fussy on brands to be honest as long as it's not a chicory coffee. Hate that stuff.

I love coffee and drink about 8-9 cups per day. At work we piss-poor coffee of unknown origin. It reminds me of a quote from GTA: "tastes like fuel, kicks like a mule..."

But at home I drink Nescafe Gold or Jacobs. Saving to get a nice coffee machine once I move at the end of the year.

No amount of coffee is going to make this day any easier. Headache from hell and no power to our computers. Oh well, more time to check out the forums.

For my instant coffee needs I have Nescafe classic but what I really enjoy is the filter coffee stuff - particularly enjoying HoC Mocha Java at the moment. For me my appreciation of decent filter coffee began when my wife and I visited Beaver Creek coffee farm on the South Coast. There I also learnt that the darker the roast (the stronger the taste) the less caffeine there is.

I've also heard that espresso actually has less caffeine in it than filter coffee because caffeine takes a while to dissolve, and with espresso, you blast the water through at high pressure, but with a percolator, it just drips through and the caffeine has more time to dissolve in the water.

Both are very interesting posts. If true then an espresso is in order more frequently and also possibly explains my preference for the darker roast. Nice one.

I hadn't heard about the darker roast thing myself, but it makes me feel a little better about the amount of coffee I drink, and I do prefer the flavour from the dark roast beans.

The espresso thing was told to me by my old man, who has a masters in chemistry, so that seems pretty legit, but I've never actually looked into the theory.

Drink 2-3 mugs of coffee a day. When I'm at the office, I drink the Douwe Egberts machine coffee which is tolerable.

When I'm at home, I use a French Press to get delicious coffee. Generally buy the Kenyan medium roast from Double-Shot cafe in Braamfontein. That stuff is delicious :D

Drink the Douwe Egberts with milk and sugar, but only add a spoon of sugar to the Kenyan roast stuff. Such good flavour that I don't want to spoil it with milk.

Instant Coffee at home I have Jacobs also have various filter coffee's did a test to see if a plunger or percolator works better, so now i have a one cup and 3 cup plunger. I do a min of about 5 cups a day .

Considering switching back to nestle arabica, thats some good stuff.

One and a half java and two sugar with milk generally
