Official Battlefield 4 Thread

Yeah exactly. I'm not paying attention to my performance right now. Just providing a few tips cos they helped me.

Right now I'm checking out the gameplay and I like what I see.

-your player actually feels heavy
-getting shot is fantastic. it's like you feel each hit
-that sound engine. great placement audio especially on some proper headphones
-swimming has been greatly improved. when you jump in the water, you actually dip down underneath instead of automatically floating on top
-climbing ladders is an improvement
-I like the new knifing and counter knifing

LOL, never thought I would ever see anyone say that :P

But yeah, exactly this. As I said earlier, the gameplay feels sooooo much more solid, and I think a huge part of that is the sound reinforcing the specific events, like seeing an RPG come past your face, or getting shot and "feeling" the impact via the great sound design.

This game is far superior to BF3 from what I have seen so far. BF3 is really weak compared to this game, in terms of really feeling like a person running around, solid gunplay and the general feel of the game. And the hitreg is damn epic. They FINALLY got it right.

@Joker: Nee oupa Joker, jy gaan BF kom kom speel saam met ons :P <3

Anyone one play on EU servers yet? Whats your experience with the hit reg with a bit more ping added in?

lol For you I might just pick BF4 over Ghosts <3 lol

@Joker forget all that nonsense, what an epic desktop background

As Tooks says, we had a good discussion ingame (he could hardly hear me and probably on purpose too :D)

of all the Bf games i played, the hitreg is by FAR better, inline with something like MOH2 hitreg or as joker said, closer to something like BO2.

all in all, its an IMPROVEMENT upon the series, which is good as you want to always be going forward.
but the lag...eish man, it did get better later on though, i steered clear of the 64 player servers for the most part till myself and Tooks had to cause kak and play choppers :D

Sadly, my HD7770 struggles, everything is low :(

Now i have to save up for another GPU..dam...

I am getting 90-100 fps with my 680 so I am happy on Ultra settings. I feel the SA server on conquest lag too much so mostly play domination in SA. Dem roof campers tho :(

How much RAM do you have and what cpu are you running?

Also running a 680 but i'm having small fps drops on ultra.

16gb Corsair Vengeance @ 1866 and a i7 2600k @ 4.5 ghz. I mostly played the Domination map as the Conquest was just way too laggy. Lowest drop I have seen was 83fps, measured with dxtory. This is with the newest nVidia drivers and not the new Beta the newest full drivers

I'm thinking of getting an HD7950, is this even going to be able to run it on Medium? Has anyone run BF4 on a similar card?

I tested the spectator mode yesterday on my overclocked 7850, it was defaulted to 1080p ultra and I was getting at least 50+. I will play a proper game tonight to see what the FPS actually is, but it was very smooth.

So everyone else loving the counter knifing?

Something I mentioned LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG ago I wished they brought into games like COD where knifing pisses me off!

I think I'll need an upgrade before I can play this - my old CPU and RAM limit the game to between 27-35FPS and there's no difference in framerate whether it's high or low settings.

Hey guys. I need some advice. Here's my rig:
- i7 2600k 3.4GHz (stock)
- GeForce 660 Ti 2GB
- 8 GB DDR3 RAM
- Standard 7200rpm hdd

I can run battlefield 3 at high-ultra at 60 fps
I tried the beta for BF4 last night and the results were horrifying.
I had terrible lag. The auto video settings set everything to high/ultra.
But even when I set everything down to low I still had lag. It was less, but definitely still there.
I've updated my driver to the latest NVidia driver 327.23. That didn't help.
And according to the scoreboard my ping is 10.

Any ideas?

Update to these drivers GeForce 331.40
They are beta drivers specifically made for BF4/Beta.

1 660ti will not be able to run the game on ultra as well, never trust auto settings bud.
Try sticking to 32 man servers during the beta, 64 player maps are really bad at the moment as far as performance goes.
Then wait for release and see how it performs.

I'm not too bothered with ultra tbh. I'll be more than happy with even medium. Thanks for the advice. Will do :)

Makes no sense. My 7850 which is slower than the 660ti is doing Ultra settings on 64 player maps without a hitch.

There is something wrong there bud.
Define without a hitch?

I've tested the game with a 7970, a gtx670, a gtx780 so far.
Avg wise the 780 was slightly faster than the 7970 but it was still a little choppy, I also know its still a beta so there is that xD
Also when you say Ultra, do you mean just ultra with no eye candy enabled?
