Forza 5 Xbox One needs huge day one update

Forza 5 needs a massive patch to play offline without Drivatars, and to finish the game

But if you do not have internet, you will not even be able to use any of the new consoles...Both require a day one patch to be installed, otherwise they are pretty much useless. So anyone that has internet to download that patch and actually use their consoles should have internet to download any updates the games they bought should have.

I don't think the PS4 is useless out of the box. As far as I'm aware, you'll still at least be able to play games out of the box, unlike the Xbone which requires a day one patch before you can play games offline. I know PS4 has a day one patch to add a lot of features as well, but it can still play games straight out of the box with no connection required.

I am so miffed that 12 countries can already play Forza 5 and we have to sit and wait till an "undisclosed" date to suck on Microsoft's tit.

You can buy a PS4, open it, set it up, install and play every single retail launch game from the first menu to the credits, earning achievements along the way, whilst never once needing to connect to the internet.

On the other hand with the Xbox One, you can't do anything with it if you don't have a internet connection. You can't even download the updates from another location and put them on a USB drive because Microsoft has removed the emergency support update from its help page. Its essentially a very large, shiny paperweight.

Over time it'll get better. Discs pressed for new releases will have system updates included in them and they won't be needing these gigantic patches. Eventually new copies of Forza and other launch titles will have these updates crammed in. How long that's going to take is anyone's guess though.
