Back in my WOW days I use to hunt achievements. Started with the ones with rewards and then followed onto others, but that was years ago.

I since kicked both addictions achievements and WOW, Lately its even a mission to finish all my games never mind try to get 100% in achivements. The worse part is the damn backlog list is growing faster than the completed games list.

I feel your pain there Alpha in the last week i have gotten 6 new games and i don't have enough time :(

I do trophy hunt a bit. Got one plat (walking dead, which was way too easy to get). Got a few others I'm trying to get done, like sleeping dogs, diablo 3, the last of us and all the uncharted games but most of those require two or more play throughs.

I never do this and I hate that games put it in as then I feel like I should do it but it is so tedious.

Dude, Sleeping Dogs is really easy to get the plat for. Do that one first.

I always try but never succeed... won't play a game to death untill I get all of them.
Sonic Generations and Rogue Legacy is the only games where I tried harder... although I still didn't manage, especially Rogue Legacy LOL that's close to impossible.

i'll try to get most of the achievements in SP but as soon as i see MP achievements i stop trying and just play the game.

Lol don't say that, I'm currently aiming for all achievments in Rogue legacy. With that said I only every try for achievements in games that I really enjoy and want another reason to carry on playing it once I've finished the main story.

I agree, because sometimes it is impossible to get the MP achievements because the game is too old, so no-one plays it anymore look at "Rugby World Cup 2011" for example.
I got all the achievements on my xbox except the 20g or so for playing a game on xbox live.

If any of you would like to play the game online against me I would appreciate it.

I'm not really bothered with achievements. I barely have any on MyG, for example. It makes the game too much of a slog. Maybe after I finish the main quest or storyline and I'm able to keep playing I'll go back and do some of that stuff. It depends on how much work is involved. I did that with the Assassin's Creed games, when I actually still played them.

I agree with what some of those above me have said. I will usually do what I can to get all the SP achievements if it is a game I really enjoy, but I detest multiplayer so usually don't get very far with those...

The only main reasons why they put achievements in games are:

1) They want people to compare to friends.
2) Encourage people to buy more games to get more points.
3) To try and play the game as long as possible.

SP achievements are good like Brendanvb said above but multiplayer achievements are sometimes hard to get.

I think a game should not be about achievements but mainly about the story line or just having fun.

But I have tried to complete a game but failed.

But its so damn difficult... however my buddy is pro... just went straight to bosses and finished the second playthrough for me... I'll maybe attempt a 3rd one now.
And yeah games like Rogue Legacy is fun as hell so don't mind making attempts at Achievement hunting.

I'm not sure how well this fits in but 3 months after release an ultra rare Easter egg was found which was hidden in the code of the game. One of the devs went on twitter asking guys to find and this is it.

I was a bit of an achievement whore in WoW. I completed most of them (had "the Insane" title), but then they just kept adding more and more all the time with new heroics, etc. Stopped playing a short while after.

I've (unintentionally) completed 1/4 of the achievements in CS:GO, and I've only been playing for a week.

No, but it is nice to see I achieved a achievement though I don't really enjoy the beat the first level achievement or any level should be a real achievement not so smacked on one.

Haha! goodluck finding guys playing it, you're probably the only one.

Actually I'm in the opposite direction. The only time I even bother with achievements is in MP; SP I really couldn't be bothered. The way I see it is that SP should remain that; a purely solitary experience. Whereas MP is about comparison and competition thus making it worth more to show off the effort you've put in for that shiny badge.
