Best budget gaming keyboard

I give up, lol. You know that 90% of those blue lights don't glare up like that, it's just for advertising effect. It looks a lot plainer when you see it up front.

when i switch off my pc room's lights, my havit (el-cheapo kb bought at rAge) light up like a blue ufo. an ok kb but it feels like the keys are too close together

I would also go for the Logitech. Better features. I'm also looking into getting a new keyboard and was looking at this one as well.

Do that, I have the G510 (I love macro's though) and have a G105 at work. They feel identically awesome and are by far the best keyboards I've ever used.

+1

I have only used Logitech PC keyboards, in conjuction with a different brand mouse.

Logitech just seem to have the edge with the keyboard department, they have a wide range of keyboards from cheap to expensive.

I can agree that Logitech make great keyboards, but I don't think they have an edge anymore. Corsair, CoolerMaster and other brands all make great keyboards.

We're not discounting that, it's just that Logitech has been a top brand in more than just their products (Xbox Controller and Sterring-Wheel was their design) and most people who've been using them for years prefer to stick to them due to a lack of failing/bad products. I still have a decade old G7 mouse and G15 keyboard - that have both seen hundreds of thousands of clicks and keystrokes.

so far from looking the gigabyte ones look nice but so do those genius ones i mean for the price anyway who stocks genius keyboards though ? and whats the difference between a mechanical KB :o

The switches make the difference on mechanical keyboards.

Typing feels a lot more fluid and you also have a wider variety of switch types to choose from. Red, black, blue, brown and I believe white as well.

I used to have a Logitech G110 keyboard. Typing was horrible. The keys just didn't feel right at all. Moved over to a CM Storm Quickfire Pro with black switches. Best decision ever.

Here you'll find the best explanation of how the switches work and which one would be best suited for you.

Only 3 brands I trust to build a gaming keyboard: Steelseries, Logitech & Razor (in that order)

As I mentioned in another post, I use an old Ideazon (bought over by Steelseries) gaming keyboard which has survived countless hours of abuse and still works just as well as when I took it out the box.

I just don't feel the Logitech keyboards are good enough, personally. At least, my G110 felt inadequate. The CM Storm keyboards feel great and are solid as a rock.

Exactly why Logictech keyboards are number 2 on my list, they feel cheap and are made cheaply. However, the internals of Logitech keyboards are right up there. The biggest issues I have with Logitech keyboards is they show wear very quickly.

How abusive are you people lol?!

Does anyone here ever clean their keyboards - completely? By that I mean, disassemble, clean properly, reassemble.

Had my logitech stuff for a long time and they never show wear ever so not sure what you do on yours. Do you spill coke and other things on it and not wash your hands?

My opinion exactly! My G15 looks brand new apart from the palm wear after a decade.

Uhuh, the silver on the plastic rubs off and they keys become all shiny. Yet my keyboard was released and purchased in the same year as the G15 and shows no signs of wear on the keys or the keyboard itself. Yes, it is that little of a difference.

My Keys aren't shiny, but I agree with the silver ware. It's primarily due to not using the wrist-rest though.

Do you have a 1st Generation or 2nd Generation G15? If you can remember a couple of years ago Logitech admitted quality issues with the 1st Gen G15 and it disappeared off the market for like 6 months.

1st Gen. The "old one" with the handle grip like holes on the left and right. I do look after my stuff real well though. Clean everything at least twice a week.

If you guys want a budget gaming keyboard just buy a zalman, they have a few good computor cases as well, jus go to rebeltech and have a look, very cheap
