They broke into the GF's house tied up her brother the helper and the helpers son and then beat the shit otu of them my gf came home and we think that scared them away cause when she got home she saw her brother tied up and he screamed run so she got out and called the cops i was still raging last night

That is just plain kak.

Are they okay?

Crime is getting really bad. I live in a security complex with electric fencing and gates and all and just the other day a woman was attacked in her flat in the middle of the night. Nowhere feels safe anymore.

Thanks guys yeah im grateful it couldve been a lot worse then it was but i wont lie i also think they all need to speak to someone because they are putting on brave faces but i know down inside they are terrified

Damn dude. That's really hectic. I hope everyone is ok. It's things like this that make me so sad for this country.

Definitely definitely speak to someone about it. It took me months to deal with it, even having been to counselling, and it would undoubtedly have taken waaay longer if I hadn't.

*edit*

And yeah, goes without saying that I'm glad they're all mostly okay.

Yea get them some professional help as soon as possible. It happened to a friend of mine's mother in law and grandmother in law, the ladies refused to see someone at first. It got so bad that they couldnt go home, couldnt be alone, after 2 months of constant fear, my friend forced them to see someone. The old house is now sold but they are living in a new place and doing a lot better, still some flashbacks and they now have a caretaker living with them so that they don't feel alone and hopeless

The problem with complexes is that unless you have super strict security guards controlling who goes in, electric fences don't help because the thieves just come in the gate. It was my pet peeve when I lived in a complex, the intercom went to people's cell phone, so you could either get in with a remote, or phone someone from the intercom to be let in, and people would just dial random numbers and say please let me in, I'm here to visit someone or another, and people would open the gate for them. Or they just park by the gate and wait for someone else to come in or out, and go through when they open the gate, or come in quickly after another car. If I saw someone by the gate, I would insist that they move out of the way so I could go through, and if someone tried to come in behind me, I would stop just inside the gate and wait for it to close. Other people would just randomly let people though and it annoyed the crap out of me. It upset a lot of people that I wouldn't let them in, but I don't just let strangers into the place that I live.

We have the same issue at the office complex where I work, because our buzzer is the first one, we get buzzed a lot. I will not open the gate for anyone. I tell them that they have to buzz the correct company. So far it has worked and word has spread in the other offices that I am VERY strict and in the last 4 months less randoms has buzzed me and we havent had one hawker or silly sales rep here that wasnt invited.

That is a kak one, sorry to hear. Glad your GF is alight though and not involved.

Really sorry to hear that! The crime in this country is astonishing. I just don't understand the violence though. Surely these criminals would want to get in and out as soon as possible instead of hanging around senselessly beating people...
