Dark Souls 2 Thread

Ah, for whatever reason I've JUST started the Copse path after getting 3 of the other powerful souls. Didn't realize I could make that contraption work by talking to that chick in the Fire Tower.

I will definitely have to replay to squeeze all of the goodness out of Dark Souls 2. And yet... it doesn't feel as good as DS1 in some ways. Definitely improved in many ways, but... somethings missing - I can't quite place it.

ironically, i feel the opposite. I feel that DS2 has enhanced the experience and I won't be able to go back to play DS1. two major factors that make DS2 much more "accessible" (without necessarily making it easier). The ability to fast travel bet bonfires from the get-go, and the ability to clean up a path to boss fights. The former helps prevent frustration and the latter helped out greatly in early part of the game when spells were low in number

I have two paths in the game right now; I could defeat the Lost sinner and advance that way or go through the gutter. Which path is better? And how do you advance through the gutter, it just seems like a dark maze?

If you defeat last sinner that level is complete.

From the gutter you will move into the black gulch. Gutter and Gulch are two short levels and can take quick. Both have Lord souls which you'll need to complete.

:( That sucks

Thank you for pre-ordering Dark Souls II PC version Black Armour Edition.

We have recently been informed that South Africa will no longer receive the Black Armour Edition of Dark Souls II PC, which included a free collectable metal case and game soundtrack with pre-order. You will still receive your pre-ordered copy of Dark Souls II, but it will be the standard edition, which does not include the aforementioned free items.

Unfortunately the matter is beyond our control. No refund will be offered and the price of the product will not be changed. Dark Souls II PC Version will be available from the 25 April 2014.

Kind regards,

before you tackle Lost Sinner, did you beat the Belfry Gargoyles in the Belfry Sol level?

Spoiler: show

You access that level from the SERVANTS QUARTERS bonfire of the Lost Bastille. down the stairs and use the pharos contraption to open the door. After beating belfry boss, you reach area with a key. this key can then be used in Sinners Rise near boss area to light 2 fires. this will make boss fight MUCH more managable
Spoiler: show

Gavlan - you'll first come across him in the wharf but he settles in Doors of Pharos area.

Okay thats going to be costly.. Galvan was accidentally killed in my game. His tombstone is there but I can talk to him for 3000 souls.

If you pay the fine you'll be able to talk to him and trade with him.
But if you leave the area or initiate a loading screen you'll need to pay again.

Just keep lighting the scones in The Gutter as you move along. You should have plenty flame butterflies to help with that.

Bonfire ascetics are a dangerous thing to have, ramps up difficulty +1. So in NG+ the area will be NG++ difficulty. Hardly worth it considering it won't bring back dead NPC.

I'm pretty disappointed in NG+

It feels like they just kinda ran out or ideas, there's no creativity. They basically just add more enemies and red phantoms. Sure it makes it more difficult which in turn makes you play more cautious, but it doesn't make you adapt and become creative, I still play the same.

Just my thoughts...
