Steam Summer Sale 2014 - What You Gonna Buy!

Anyone else find these community choice deals frustrating. They pair AAA games with lesser known titles, so the AAA always win out, even though they've already come on sale like 50 times.

Indeed. There's also a lot of repeats in the community vote.
Beginning to wonder how the random generator works (or doesn't work)

Still bummed that Transistor didn't win the community vote because the other option had a triple A title in it :(

Of course, I'd like to get Ikagura for $2.50 next round, but it is going up against Dark Souls... Guess another community choice I chose won't be chosen :)

I don't think the community votes are random are they? They're always groups into "Sandbox" vs "simulator" etc.

Random per genre...
Current example is Dark souls, that has been on flash sale, daily sale and now community vote -_-

Banished. It looks interesting. Reminded. Each a little bit about Anno 1602. Not the best price but I took it anyways.

And I thought I'm getting away lightly this year... So far I've gotten:
- The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition
- Borderlands 2 Season Pass
- Metro: Last Light
- TES: Skyrim
- Dishonored

...and I got 3 games for a friend. Can't remember which though, they were on his wish list and its his birthday today. Thing is, ALL the games I've bought were on my wish list. It's as if GabeN was monitoring me before the sale and decided to bankrupt me. Let's hope Anno 2070 doesn't go on sale again. I can't resist it a second time around...

damnit damnit damnit....bought Dark Souls in a flash sale. But in all honesty, that game have been bugging my mind for quite a while now.

Oh and if you guys bought Dishonored or Skyrim, there is nothing to be ashamed about, those games are above and beyond awesome! You wont even realise you are eating water and bread or your wife hurling insults or the cries of your children about not having sweeties!
They are actually just distractions from gaming! Good food? NEVER! You are a soldier, you need to be lean and tough! :D

I see the Red team does not care about the reddit routine, and they are ahead in the points for today as well. I am on the red team, but have contributed a whole zero points thus far!

Only bought Payday 2 so far. Considering getting Kerbal Space Program before it's going off special in about 8 hours.

Thinking about getting crusader kings 2 bundle. Heard it's really good and addictive. Anyone had had any experience with it ?
Too many games though, just got sniper elite 3 and soon divinity. Won't be able to play all these games.

I have the base CK2.. that thing will consume you once you get into it.

It has a gianormous learning curve in the beginning, so that might be a put off.
If you can slog through all the basics of the game, which will require a good few hours, you'll feel like you are a house in the GoT series.
Backstabbing, politics, upholding family name, getting killed by/killing your relatives etc.

On the action side of things, you won't be presented with a theatre of war. Instead, you will be presented with numbers, lots and lots of numbers. You watch these numbers trickle down as the battle rages. Which is surprisingly quite exciting. Sort of like seeing your investment in the stock market rise.

Lastly, mods, mods everywhere.
From transforming the game into GoT or LoTR series, you'll find lots of it.

Back on topic... I bought Bioshock infinite + season pass :D
(wholly 40GBs of download!!!)

And I was doing so well...

Up to yesterday I only bought Monaco + Spec Ops: The Line, well that was that.

Today we added:
Farcry 3: Blood dragon
Company of heroes 2 + All DLC's
Dishonored
Assassins Creed 3 + 4
The bureau

And with that I spend all my "game cash" in one day. So steam better stop its sale else I will be tempted to buy more.

...and today I added the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon / Call of Juarez: Gunslinger bundle and LA Noire: Complete to my collection. I now have 1 million hours worth of games to play.

AND I'm getting the Xperia Z2 / PS4 combo on my Vodacom upgrade next week, so even more games to play from then. FML?
