The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I have to admit I am enjoying the english subs better than the english dubs. I forgot how good some of the voice overs are in japenese.

Hunter x hunter is such a fun enime I thought it was aimed at kids at first, but I was totally wrong wish it was a little more bloody but they say the manga is.

I really like their nemesis Hisoka so far.

I was also under the impression it was aimed at the shonen demographic but some episodes make me ponder otherwise. The 'bloodyness' comes in a bit later, shortly after the tower of Heaven Arc.

As far as bad guy's go, I adore Hisoka's character he is always plotting something people are like toys to him. Illumi at this point in the anime is a close second. Finally Merum (you will come to meet later) is possibly the best bad guy in an anime ever, he is right at the top above Hisoka.

Sad to see it go, but I would rather them work on new shows and wait for the manga to progress to a stage whereby they are able to continue the anime than drown it in bad filler episodes and sully it's reputation.

I'm roughly 25 episodes in and I must admit I'm having a great time with Hunter x Hunter :eek:. Gon is obviously obliviously awesome :D, Hisoka and Killua though :eek:

The other day, at Sanbunzaka Studio, the place of all the beginnings, we conducted the recording for episode 148 of Hunter x Hunter, which will serve as the turning point for the anime for now. I will not say "final episode" myself. I will be stubborn and only call it "episode 148." I say this, because in terms of episode numbers, in a certain meaning, this will be the final episode, but I feel that it also feels like the start of a new beginning. If you ask me, episode 147 is the final episode, and 148 is sort of an epilogue. The original manga is still continuing, and the adventures haven't ended yet. An unknown world still awaits. Actually, it's like what has happened up until now in the story was nothing more than a prologue, and it gets me even more expecting for what's to come.
Though I say that, when I think that "I've been going to the same place every week at the same time for three years, but next week, this won't happen...," I get very sad.

Are they going to put all 5 up at once? If that is true then it would be perfect, then I don't have to go through 6 days of agony.

However, I still have to watch Monogatari Series Second Season, or did I? I recall at the end of Kuro that Tsubasa cut her hair?

She had her hair short at the beginning of Monogatari SS - so I think it was at the end of Kuro, yes.

As far as I know the 5 episodes are being released on the same day - I can only hope that it will be streamed here, because so far they don't have South Africa listed. Which will piss me off just a little bit.

Well CR did add Card Captor Sakura to their streams but sadly I could not watch it due to the whole not living in the US/Canada bullcrap, no matter I do want to own the BD's or DVD's at some stage but streaming it would have been easier for me than having to wait. As for 'gatari if that is the case then I guess I will have to make use of HS or Nyaa.

They added Toradora too - both dubbed and subbed ... and THAT is available here :/

So far the only character I remotely like that I share my birthday with is Mizuno Ami from Sailor Moon.

Not that I'm complaining :3 She's by far the best girl in that series

So I had a major Hunter x Hunter binge session last night, and actually finished the Heavens Arena arc (I'm actually 37 episodes in :eek:). This damn anime has pulled me in! Now that the *SPOILER ALERT* true extent of the Hunter exam has been revealed, and what actually makes Hunters or distinguished fighters in the show special (also, the fights in the arena are pretty cool) *SPOILERS END*, I'm even more excited to carry on watching :D.

The characters are great and it looks like they'll be fleshed out even further as we continue. Hisoka though, love his character and bad-ass nature as a villain, but damn he's a pedo :eek:.

Toradora, I don't think I have watched it yet, maybe I will give it a try. The tsurende lead character seems to put me off though.

You just scratched the surface so far, wait until you get to the Greed Island and Chimera ant arc. There are some fight sequences that will have you doing a double take. I love how Gon and Killua just absorb everything like a sponge.

I can't wait :D!!! Sponge is the correct word, I actually enjoy seeing them learn.
 
I watch a good many episodes a night :p It has become one of my fav anime of all time so far :D
