Creeper World 3.
'For billions of years, empires rose to greatness. Each fell to the Creeper till none remained. Now all hope appears lost. Who will stand against the Creeper? Experience this extreme and massive expansion of the Creeper World franchise. Nothing will ever be the same… Massive maps, custom units scripting, terraforming, Gravatars? Can you handle the challenge?'
I played a demo of CW2 a while back and it captivated me, I couldn't let go. So when CW3 was in a bundle I bought it without blinking. Only managed to start playing it within the last 2 weeks.
Originality 9/10
The game is basically a type of tower defense game. The difference is that the enemy doesn't have a set path it will follow to your Command Node. The enemy is called Creeper, and it behaves like a fluid, slowly flowing all over the map. Creeper has spawn points from where they flow.
You start the game with your Command node. You can build several offensive buildings like a Cannon or Mortar and defensive buildings like Shield or Sprayer. You can build these buildings anywhere, but they have to be connected to your Command Node to be built, and supplied with power or ammo.
You win each level by destroying all Creeper spawn points and picking up all necessary items like keys for next worlds.
Story line 6/10
The game had a very interesting story line with an interesting twist. It's not a very deep story, and I get the feeling that not a lot of effort has gone into perfecting it, but it is an interesting concept none the less. They tried at least.
Replay-ability 8/10
Each level has global ranking based on a score you get which is calculated according to the time you took to complete the level. I think someone managed to cheat because most levels has times of 20-40 seconds, where I took 20 minutes + to complete the level. Or, you know, I suck.
Besides the 20 odd levels in the story line, there are 100's of extra levels to play in different modes (haven't checked these out yet) then there are also community created maps. You can even create and play your own maps.
Difficulty - Easy to Moderate
This game is not hard. At all. I've finished 99% of the maps on the first attempt. There are some maps with time limits on them, and I did have to repeat one of those.
It took me 16 odd hours to complete the game. I can not believe how quickly those 16 hours went by. It felt like a 4-6 hour game. I enjoyed every moment of the game.
Final score: 7/10
