Tomb Raider :: 7/10 (PS3)
It was not bad, when i was about 65-70% done i stopped playing it for a while as i just got bored of it, but i must say the last few hours of gameplay was rather fun.

Sid Meier's Civilization V :: 9/10

I am a Civilization die hard. I have been an avid player since the second generation of Sid Meier's Civilization. The fifth generation is completely different to previous generations. No more stacking of units and only on unit on a square means that you have to be a lot smarter about how units are positioned. Consider that only one unit can be garrisoned in a city. Only one unit defending. Game play is turned on its ear.

Took me a while to get used to this, but I am really pleased I perservered and now I am enjoying it.

Finished inFamous Second Son last night, very much enjoyed it. 8 out of 10 for me. Did the good karma play through, and would like to do the evil karma one sometime.

Bioshock. The first one. put about 21 hours into it. The first 15 was fun, but then I got tired of it. Had to struggle to finish the game. Great, interesting story line though, and that kept me going till the end. I'd give it a 6.5/10

That's how I feel about Bioshock 2. The first 75% was fun and interesting, but the last bit became a chore - so much so that I never finished it.

For me it was the other way around. I loved the first Bioshock but with Bioshock 2 I found the beginning to be a chore and only later in the game did I start enjoying it and then the end was very good. :)

FarCry 3 : 8.5/10

Great fun at the beginning, and I tried to collect all the collectables (chests, relics, etc) as I went along. By the time I reached the second island I was tired of running after each little chest, while I didn't need the money (a bad habit of mine, I do the same to AC, although at least there my wallet isn't limited). When I refocused on the gameplay and the story progression, it was great. The absurd and abstract boss battles put me off slightly though.

Will definitely get FC4.

Without going into too much detail, cos I could talk about it for ages (or it would need a separate thread).

The Last of Us 10/10.

Creeper World 3.

'For billions of years, empires rose to greatness. Each fell to the Creeper till none remained. Now all hope appears lost. Who will stand against the Creeper? Experience this extreme and massive expansion of the Creeper World franchise. Nothing will ever be the same… Massive maps, custom units scripting, terraforming, Gravatars? Can you handle the challenge?'

I played a demo of CW2 a while back and it captivated me, I couldn't let go. So when CW3 was in a bundle I bought it without blinking. Only managed to start playing it within the last 2 weeks.

Originality 9/10
The game is basically a type of tower defense game. The difference is that the enemy doesn't have a set path it will follow to your Command Node. The enemy is called Creeper, and it behaves like a fluid, slowly flowing all over the map. Creeper has spawn points from where they flow.

You start the game with your Command node. You can build several offensive buildings like a Cannon or Mortar and defensive buildings like Shield or Sprayer. You can build these buildings anywhere, but they have to be connected to your Command Node to be built, and supplied with power or ammo.

You win each level by destroying all Creeper spawn points and picking up all necessary items like keys for next worlds.

Story line 6/10
The game had a very interesting story line with an interesting twist. It's not a very deep story, and I get the feeling that not a lot of effort has gone into perfecting it, but it is an interesting concept none the less. They tried at least.

Replay-ability 8/10
Each level has global ranking based on a score you get which is calculated according to the time you took to complete the level. I think someone managed to cheat because most levels has times of 20-40 seconds, where I took 20 minutes + to complete the level. Or, you know, I suck.

Besides the 20 odd levels in the story line, there are 100's of extra levels to play in different modes (haven't checked these out yet) then there are also community created maps. You can even create and play your own maps.

Difficulty - Easy to Moderate
This game is not hard. At all. I've finished 99% of the maps on the first attempt. There are some maps with time limits on them, and I did have to repeat one of those.

It took me 16 odd hours to complete the game. I can not believe how quickly those 16 hours went by. It felt like a 4-6 hour game. I enjoyed every moment of the game.

Final score: 7/10

Play it if:
You like TD games
You enjoy strategy games
You seek a sense of achieving something

Ignore it if:
You're looking for a deep story with great variety and that is influenced by your in-game choices.

Typing of the dead: overkill.

Get your typing mittens on, because this game is all out frantic typing, motherf*****er (reference to in game Sam L Jackson rip off).
This game is actually a great way to learn typing. It requires you to type all the words correctly as they pop up over the zombies for a kill. If you can't, you become zombie chow.

Even seasoned typists should find this interesting... I average 55-60 words a minute on sites that test your typing speed. But throw in epileptic inducing effects from the light gun era, some jamming rock music and zombies, accuracy becomes a challenge! Still not convinced? Try the shooting gallery or the survival mode to see how well your finger+eye coordination fares.

There's also a leader board to see how well you did compared to your friends. So if this is sitting in your backlog somewhere, I highly suggest you give your fingers some exercise.

Bottom line: put your finger + eye coordination to the test.
Rating: 8/10

I gave it a shot and finished the first 2 chapters in one sitting. It was addictive and FUN. The expletives became a bit much for me, to be honest, but I suppose it suits the B-grade horror feel of the game.

Deponia

It started out ok but as I got further into the story it became a lot more interesting and I began to care for some of the characters. The art is superb and the scenes are interesting places to look at. Although some of the puzzles were a bit obscure (as they can be in adeventure games) there was for the most part some logic behind the solutions to the puzzles. One thing is for sure, the ending left me wanting to start the next game in the series straight away (too bad I don't have it yet).

Verdict: Recommended if you enjoy decent adventure games. The humour is pretty decent for the most part and the story certainly gets interesting towards the end.

Anna

frustration-70%
swearing-60%
apologizing-90%

Metro: Last Light. 7/10 (PS3)

I really do not enjoy any game where you have to shoot monsters, not sure if it's just fps, but I really enjoyed this game.

You can customize every gun that you can carry and there are loads of guns in the game.

The ending caught me by surprise.

Planetary Annihilation

Avoid!

I regret backing this game on Kickstarter although it seemed very promising at the time. What they didn't initially tell you is that there is no offline mode at all - everything is run off of Uber's grossly insufficient servers, even sending friend requests is a pain.

The game is horribly optimised and in many ways still represents an unfinished product. All this would be a bit more forgiveable if they hadn't decided to call the game finished and then launch another Kickstarter campaign to make a new game.

The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

I've never really been a big fan of the Elder Scrolls games. I tend to prefer roleplaying games that have a lot of dialogue and character development and the Elder Scrolls games just never really grabbed me.

Skyrim comes as a big surprise though because I thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact the only reason why I stopped was because I've got such a big backlog.

I love the world that they created. Everywhere you go there are stories and quests and actually exploring Skyrim is a joy. There were times that I just walked in a general direction to see what's there.

Using the STEP Project as a guide I played a heavily modded Skyrim and it was bug free and beautiful.

I can definitely recommend it to everyone. Even those who didn't like the previous Elder Scrolls games.

Gone Home

A game that the critics loved and the gamers didn't. At least that's how I saw it when I first got it. The Steam user reviews are bad! And yet it's got a Metacritic score of 86.

Basically it's a game where you walk around a big house and examine things and so a story unfolds. There's no action. No real puzzles. It's just exploring.

Plus the game is only about 2 hours long.

Yet, I really really liked it. It's got everything that makes a story great. I liked the characters and the idea behind it all.

In fact the game reminded me of Dear Esther. Yet this is done so much better.

I can really recommend it to anyone with an open mind who is willing to try something different.

Bioshock Infinite. 7.5 / 10

I enjoyed the game, you just need to plan accordingly as you can only keep 2 vigors(spells) and 2 guns at a time.

The gameplay was fun, and the story rather good.
Spoiler: show
You even travel back to Rapture near the end.

And i must say i did not see that ending coming.

The vigors you can change at any time. :) Guns though you can only keep two at a time. I absolutely loved Bioshock Infinite.
