Ouch! Captain of the Altitis club are you? I always thought Aion would be one of the worst games to play alts in as levelling is such a grind.
 
I'm looking forward to giving the new version a chance but I'll have to wait for my cap to refresh. Any idea how big the 2.5 update is shadowfox?

Altaholics actually.

I suppose it depends on your point of view with regards to how important you figure leveling is. To put it in perspective - I've been playing the game for 19 months (apart from the 3 week break while trying Rift out) - and I still haven't got a max level character. I'm really not in any kind of rush.

For instance - I'm busy with my Miragent set at the moment - probably one of the worst grinds in the game - I've been busy with it now for 6 weeks and I'm only nearly done with the 3rd part. Not that I'm collecting it for the stats (its far from the best set in the game these days) or for the e-peen value - I simply like collecting armor sets (GWs fault really).

And because each class has a completely different style of play demanding different tactics, I love char-hopping - each night usually sees me on at least 2 or 3 of my characters, and I'll usually pause mid-grind on one char to switch to another and hunt Asmos. I find the variety tremendously entertaining. Based on what I see around me, I'm not the only one either.

@Maelstrom - the new patch weighs in at 4GB - so it would be best if you could track someone down in your area who has the client.
 
@shadowfox: Ouch, that is quite a heavy patch. Will take your advice and see if I can source the client locally. Thanks shadowfox. :)
 
Nothing major's changed in terms of gameplay. A lot of the focus in this particular patch was on new equipment, pet abilities, and the graphics engine update was of course the biggest change. Opinion is a bit split on the new graphics, I'm still quite happy with the default engine - which was improved as well.

Two new instances were added for each faction, couple of new costumes were added, one instance rewards you with points you can use to buy them since they're exclusive to that instance. Also a lot of changes were made to the pets and how you interact with them, and finally each of the classes had 2 new skills added - 1 stigma and 1 skill book each, and some skill balancing was done as well - making the chanter a little less useless in PvP.

It's subjective - I recommend you play for yourself and decide. NCSoft's having a reactivation event starting on the 3rd of June - you'll be able to play for free for 10 days.
 
So ncsoft failed yet again.

Gave the Siege insentive bonus to Perento's asmos and not the elyos.......

Btw guys its reactivation week everyone that had an account can log in to test 2.5

I am posting here since it is after hours for our EU team. Briefly today the faction fort siege incentive reward survey for Perento was sent out to the Asmodian players; this was a mistake on our part as this should have gone to the Elyos players on Perento.

We have pulled the Asmodian survey and are relaunching a new survey for the Elyos on Perento. We apologize for this mistake in the surveys and have added 4 additional medals to the surveys for Elyos on Perento. This will put this weekly fort siege incentive survey total for Elyos on Perento to a choice of 12 platinum medals or 12 gold medals.

We apologize for this inconvenience. The surveys will be up for one week and are available to one character per server, per account for characters level 25-55. (all surveys in game are once per server, per account if you were not familiar with how they run). If you wish to accept this survey on a different character, do not accept the survey, log off and get on the character you wish to have accept the survey.

Kinda bs if u ask me they need to give us double what they got.
 
I think it's the 18GB download they're worried about :D

Worst thing for me is the fact that I'm writing Law on Tueday, so I can't really spend a lot of time on this weekend T_T

Means I'm missing out on the crafting XP boost as well :(
