Another BT Games complaint thread...

Dont know, something to do with the Witcher 2

/makes note: Remember to check for comic book and pre-order DLC on Tuesday.

I must say you are persistent :)

And tenaciously stubborn :3

I've already pre-ordered Dungeon Siege 3: LE from Take2. I'm so over BT right now. The words "never again" keep repeating themselves in my mind.

Lol, I think you are really testing them here.
Well, it's a simple request that I am completely entitled to make. How they handle it is a chance for them to either live up to my naturally low expectations or put a bit of doubt in my mind about the gravity of my experiences with them.

*nod* *nod*

The DLC is sealed within the Collectors Box. As for the premium orders, they might want to check that they get theirs. As for the comic books, if you are one of the first 500 PAID orders, then you will get your comic book, probably not on release date though, but you never know muhahahahaha

The one in the box is The Mysterious Merchant or something like that. I might have to go and take a second look tomorrow but im sure of it ... think hehe

Another Complaint about BT

The bastards hadn't logged my pre order for Witcher 2. I had pre ordered Dungeon Siege 3 and then cancelled that order after the delay was announced and made the order for Witcher 2. Phoned them now to confirm it and my change of pre order hadn't been logged.
Good thing I phoned otherwise no Witcher 2 - unless they had excess stock.
So I still get the premium edition for R355 at least.

Starting to notice a distinct need for the customer to keep an eye on their purchases with BT :p

Good save, simon!

Mind removing my name from your post? :)

One thing about BT is that games are always sealed and unopened. They're the only stores I know of that do that. However, ordering online is where any compliments for BT start going a little south :/

Sorry, just wanted to check something that I had seen :P

Yeah I never order online with anybody, don't trust internet financial dealings. I work at an internet cafe where I see people's accounts being hacked a lot.
Yeah when I bought Gothic Universe from Look and Listen I felt somewhat cheated that they opened up my sealed game - buggers didn't consider that the customers like doing that for themselves. Its that post purchase good feeling

Don't worry, I spotted you on BT's Facebook group too :p

My name and surname are both publicly available on my XFire profile but I've never been terribly fond of it being used on a forum *shrug* :)

Been shopping online for six years and prefer it over buying in-store every time. And, frankly, I'd never use online banking or credit card details at an internet cafe. That's asking for trouble :) The problem isn't online shopping so much as it is the means by which you access it.

Which is why BT is the only physical store I'm prepared to buy games from. I'm happy to give credit where credit is due but FFS, they've had that site and issues with it for years, I can't believe they haven't upgraded it in all this time especially after noticing how many issues actually occur because of it.

The problem is I pre order over the phone. Nothing to do with the internet, so for them to screw up like that is very unforgivable. I am just glad that I am still getting it on Tuesday. The other thing as you saw I am being charged 355 not 345. Its just 10 bucks but shouldn't I be paying 345 instead

haha... Wow, I see your point. How does pre-ordering over the phone work? Do you still get a confirmation of your pre-order?

And that's not exactly unusual of BT either--like I said earlier, I had a pre-order that was paid for and went down in price--I had to ask the people at the store when I collected only to be told I need to contact head office.... for R26? O.o'

I'm still waiting for my cancellations and refunds or even a confirmation thereof. If I don't receive any correspondence by 12:00 tomorrow I'm phoning in.

It's seriously going to take something major to get me to ever use BT as my first choice again.

I've had issues without fail when it comes to pre-ordering in-store or over the phone. As of the beginning of this year BT-Games have brought in a service where you write down what pre-order you want in a specific pre-order book and then they take the original copy and you get a copy of what you've written. Kinda like a deposit slip you get at a bank, where the bank takes one side and you the other. So if they cock up and you pre-ordered in-store then you have proof.

But I still prefer online as I haven't had any problems yet, at least not yet! I'm still waiting for my confirmation e-mail from them confirming that my L.A. Noire pre-order has been auto-upgraded!!

Well the only games I have pre ordered at BT Games was Starcraft 2, Dungeon Siege 3 and Witcher 2.
I just phoned them and told them I want to pre order it. I live kind of far from the closest BT so I am not going to ride my petrol out to order something that can just be done on the phone.
I just say "hi, I would like to pre order such and such," they take my name etc and presto its done. But no, no confirmation as of yet. Well actually they never really needed to since I went to the midnight launch for Starcraft 2 and Witcher 2 is the only other game that I have pre ordered and stuck with.
I will go in first thing though on Tuesday morning to ensure that my copy is set aside and that they don't tell me "o sorry we screwed up, you can get your game next week as all our copies are set aside for other people who ... pre ordered." facepalm.

but best of luck with getting correspondance from them. Take it up with head office and get them to phone your branch, then check up later in the day that it was done.

Thank you for your mail but please note that the BTGAMES.CO.ZA email addresses have been discontinued.
You will need to contact the recipients directly for the new address details and update your address books.

Regards,
BT Games Management

I LOVE how the e-mail addresses on the website haven't been updated to reflect this yet.

I dont order from them on a regular basis but I can honestly say i'v never had a problem with them and i'v been ordering xbox 360 games from them since 07

Lycanthrope any luck yet with getting things sorted with bt games

None yet. I did what the gent I spoke to over the phone said and e-mailed the new address. A few minutes after that I received payment confirmation for Fable 3 (again), even though I removed that part from the e-mail I sent because it was already done, so no idea what's going on. I'm doing the wait and see thing... again.
