Another BT Games complaint thread...

Point made......:o

Thought so. Went to BT this morning to fetch my CE of The Witcher 2. No pre-order DLC and no comic book, saying that they'll contact me when they arrive. However, got a PM this morning as well:

BT told all the stores that only the Premium edition guys are getting a comic cause only 150 came in SA. Which I think is bullshit and will NOT remain silent as they fuck me up the ass. In the brochure it clearly states that the first 500 PAID PRE-ORDERS will receive comic books. I cant complain about BT on the forums because I can lose my job but other people can cause an uproar!

So, naturally, I decided I'd complain for him.

To be frank, I don't ever want to place another order with BT.

Spoke to the staff at the store about my dilemma, they both said that only the folk at HQ can refund me and that I should e-mail them... again. However, on a positive note, I forwarded the e-mail to the store while I was there too and they said they'd try to sort it out for me and they'd keep in contact.

Zaps are also only expecting their comics after 12pm, seems a country wide problem...sadly.

So go install now and tell us what you think!!!!!

I've also had it with BT, the last three times I've visited the Fourways branch they've been out of stock of the title I want. On top of that the smug little band of nerds working there never feel the need to apologise or even bother checking if other branches have stock.

Zaps FTW.

haha... I'd love to but two things:
1) muh schnookums doesn't have his yet, so I will only play TW2 when he can (it's a sort of silent agreement we have with each other--we start games together)
2) I lost my frikkin' savegames for The Witcher so I've been replaying to have one to import to TW2.

I enjoy the series so hardly too bugged to replay one of my all-time favourite games :D

See, that's the thing--I love the people who work at my local store... granted it's an hour's drive to get there. They know what they're talking about, they're always friendly and always helpful and apologetic when something goes wrong (read: every time I collect an order).

I'm sorry to hear about your issue but, selfishly, I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had grief with them.

And in other news, just got a call from my local BT Games store and was told that my refund will be processed and clear within a week. So finally SOME GOOD NEWS!

Also, as I said in the Witcher 2 chat thread, no comic book but I got my pre-order DLC codes and a compensatory DLC for the said lack of comic book. Glad about that, at least.

BT Games can stick their complimentary dlc up their ass. I bought a Collectors Edition to have the Collectors Items, NOT FUCKING DLC!!!!!!!

One thing though, we got the collector's items in the collector's edition. The comic book was a pre-order incentive (i.e. a free bonus).

I would agree though that the first paid-for orders should get, regardless of what edition they bought. Anything less is insulting. Our orders are of just as much value as the standard (read: premium) edition if not more so.

But *shrug* at least they compensated us for it and I'm happy with that. Much better than, "oh, sorry, too bad for you."

What kind of system of organisation does BTGames employ? Are they a bunch of baboons?

I preordered Brink about two weeks ago, but have in the meantime decided not to get it. I was planning on having it couriered to me, but due to the fact that I could get posting for free from Take2, and BTGames wanted to charge me R100, I decided not to get it from BTGames, and after that decided not to get it at all. It's my bad, as I forgot to cancel the preorder, but seeing as their store page says any unpaid orders expire after the game's release day, it shouldn't be too much of a biggie.

Now, earlier today, I get an sms saying my copy of Brink is available for collection at their store. I ignored it, as I thought it would just expire if I don't go get it. Then just now, another sms comes through giving me my bonus preorder DLC codes? WTF? How can you send somebody who hasn't even paid for the game yet a code for DLC? I deleted the sms, as I have no intention of buying the game and don't want to be accused of using a code for which I didn't pay later. How the hell does this work? They'd better not give me anytrouble over this, as I certainly don't have the money for the game now and I'm definitely not paying for it even if I had. Isn't it their job to check that somebody paid before sending them DLC?

It's also the last time I do business with BTGames, as the service I've been receiving lately is absolutely horrible and I've very rarely ordered a game from them, then when getting there they had it instore. The closest to me is Tygervalley and they seem clueless as to what's going on around them and the other one I used to frequent was Canal Walk, and those guys' attitudes stank to high heaven.

*sigh* It's been six days so I thought I'd e-mail and check up. I e-mailed both orders and Steven Moore. I received a response from Steven Moore in about five minutes flat asking: Please advise what refund this is for.

I would've assumed they'd use my e-mail address to check but, no matter. I e-mailed him (again) citing all the details and asked him to just update me on what's going on with that refund. It's been an hour and fifteen minutes so far. I'm inclined to believe that the moment you request a refund they pretend to be deaf, dumb and blind to it.

Seriously, if I had any doubts that my business dealings with them is over, those doubts have been eradicated...

Ask Take2, Prophecy, Kalahari, etc for a refund and you get one within 24 hours, no questions asked.

And sorry, Graal, I didn't see your post before now but that's hardly surprising. I think it's a typical example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing and the brain is suffering from some kind of multiple personality disorder.

Oh for the love of...

Since I received no response I e-mailed them to ask for some feedback. The response? "Waiting for a response from our directors. We will revert back to you in the morning."

So they've done fuck-all IN THE LAST WEEK?!

Sorry, where are those people chirping about good service? Don't make me fucking laugh.

Same experience here with my preorder of Cataclysm. I actually ordered from Amazon as well and that order came before the BTGames one did...

You must be the only person left who hasn't had some issue with them then :p Your days are numbered, my friend :)

I myself have never had a problem as such with BT games. I must admit though, BT games has honestly started annoying me of late. Their staff have some serious, either attitude problems, or just plane lack of personality. There is a particular shop here in the *cough* east *cough* rand that i have sworn to myself never to go to again. So two weeks ago, I went cruising around to a few BT stores in and around Joburg....

I am happy to report now, that I am buying my games from Exclus1ves. Oooh, and my Blu-Ray movies. How seriously crap is the Blu-Ray offering out there these days? Jeez...

i myself am put off by the staff at La Lucia mall. they seem so aloof/disinterested/ im doing u a favor when serving you. I have not bought any games there anymore. hope someone from BTgames reads this. I have heard that head office doesnt treat them too well themselves (rules/etc) so they are disinterested when it comes to customers too.

E-mailed them about 40-minutes ago asking for an update. Just received confirmation and proof of refund.

Finally, that saga is over.

I have not had any Problems with Bt Games, Thus far. But they do take a while to Update the Website.

Glad you managed to get it sorted with BT, Lycanthrope.
I have come to the conclusion that one person deals with pre orders per store, so if that one person f*cks up then nobody is any wiser.
For example when I phoned them to query my pre order for Witcher 2, the person who picked up the phone gave it to somebody else when I mentioned I was querying about my pre order.

Spoke too soon.

Just fetched my Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel edition from BT... And had to pay in R45 because APPARENTLY there was only R500 on my account???

Now, maybe it's just me, but according to this e-mail (and every other order in my account) it's PAID for:

I am SO fucking through with these assholes.

Well, must say I also haven't had any problems with them yet besides the staff being damn lazy in some of the shops. Called to check on a game at 1 in the afternoon on a week day and they were apparently too busy to help me, "please send an email".
But with pre-orders all goes smoothly so far. Ordered 3 games in the past 2 months and no problems there. Also do the pay in store option.

So far I've had problems with preorders not going through and losing out on getting them early. Happened with WoW Cataclysm also had to literally go into the store and preorder in the store cause their website was crap :P.

They even said they never saw my preorder at all yet I did it first time it released in their store for Cavendish, Cape Town. Also have same problem with the Pavillion, Durban store so must be their website.

Then they told me on the midnight launch that there will not be any prizes handed out when asking at the store, so I went to watch a movie in mean time to pass the time. When I got back they called my name out and rushed to the front yet they wouldn't give the prize to me, strange, so lost a cool shirt.

So given up on BT games rather use take2 for every game, since take2 has way better customer service and a working website.
