Any Board Game Geeks?

Sup guys. Last weekend I went up to Digital Sushi to pick up my new Agricola board game. Following a giddy unwrapping phase and many hours of learning the rules, it hit me: I've become a board game geek. My cupboard is slowly developing into a box library of Spiel De Jahres nominees and old classics. At this rate, my new found love may even eclipse my PC gaming habit!

Anyone else on the forums here that also share a soft spot for the good ol' cardboard variant of our favourite pastime? Hey, let's not be too fussy here; cards, dice, role-playing...anything goes.
Hands up! Whatcha got?

Starting new threads on interesting topics also shouldn't get you crucified. This is a discussion forum after all. People are welcome to start discussions, and it may even draw in new people who missed out on the earlier discussions.

Update: Unapproved posts in the interest of not derailing a thread before it has begun.

This is what I get clicking on the link...

OMG Will you look at that?!

Thanks for stepping in there James, and @OmegaFenix, no need to be snarky boet, just chill. You could've PM'd me instead.
I wanted to start a new thread, since it has a story attached to it which might generate an interesting discussion.

I am usually a pretty big asshole so I will clear this up.

This is me being snarky:

What is this... a thread that already discusses the subject? It can't be.

Well consider my mind blow.

My post in this thread was intended to be helpful.

Been playing a lot of Settlers of Catan and some Game of Thrones (that board game might be fun, but you'll definitely have a headache from all the thinking 0_0)

Sweet! I also have SOC; was my first dip into Euro games.

I think I read a good review on the GOT game. I find that I've started liking more complex games over time, so I'm not really intimidated by Fantasy Flight games which tend to be on that side of the scale. Would you recommend it?
My current collection includes Agricola, Dominion, Dixit, Pandemic, Settlers of Catan, and 7 Wonders. Might be missing one.
The rest aren't worth mentioning, *cough* Monopoly *cough*.

Oh? A thread about booooard gaming?
Heh. Hehehehe.... :D

Right, so I'm a huge boardgame fan. My collection holds: Dreadfleet, Space Hulk , Chaos in the Old World, Horus Heresy, and Dust Tactics.

Our group also often plays Arkham Horror, Mansions of Madness, Citadels, and Dominion - and I'm really looking forward to the new Infiltration.

Chaos in the Old World is probably our outright favorite group boardgame, it's absolutely fantastic - Though Citadels and Dominion are much easier to just pick up and play, and have much more variety and fluidity. Interested in playing more Thunderstone (a game based heavily on the Dominion deck building game mechanic).

I never really enjoyed Arkham Horror - took far too long, and while Mansions of Madness is fantastic, it quickly ran its course.

I've also had several games with the Gears of War boardgame, and I was really surprised at how good it was, regardless of its attachment to the franchise.

I'm currently holding myself back from getting anything new, even though Infiltration looks damned sexy - I'm just going to support my Dust Tactics / Warfare hobby, and a slight monetary dribble into my 40k hobby. That said, since I demoed Dust at Icon for Skycastle Games, I've seen a massive surge in popularity,

Kharrak, I would loved to try out Arkham Horror and MoM.
I considered getting the game a while back, but the play time kinda put me off. My gaming group has a low attention span, and it's no fun buying the games and then no-one plays them, epic fail. I'll have to check out Chaos in the Old World though.

Wished there was something like a public community here in CT where we could demo such things and just have fun.

Hi guys and gals
I have a Warhammer fantasy collection and the dnd boardgame aswell as starter set. Also played the game of thrones, wow and good old risk. Id like to give settlers a go still one day also heard that paranoia is awsome. one game i am looking for is risk 2210ad.
