Yeah I'm only playing F2P for now to get a feel for the game, want to get to around 15-20ish so I have unlocked most of the important things, then I will definitely get patron. Really enjoying it so far.

U delaying the inevitable, just get it now and at least that way u will have a constant stream of LP. Cause trust me u gonna get to the "level" u want and wont be able to do much (assuming its LP related, but in fairness who plays this game to quest???)

I saw the stone prices, it was a matter of time. I made a nice income from it, and got my farm cart thing so im happy.

Yea I'm trying to upgrade now but the login site for Trion seems to be down =/

Edit: Another question, regarding land ownership, I know you have to pay taxes to keep your land, and after 2 or 3 weeks of unpaid taxes you lose it, is there a way to que up tax payments ? What if you go on holiday for 3 weeks ? will everything be lost ?

Unfortunately not a way to queue op taxes, i think they designed this on purpose so that people who owns land are actually "active" , otherwise players would just pay taxes a year in advance and stop playing after a month, leaving the active players without land.

So yea, even i will have this issue soon, so i can only hope it means i will score better land due to this instead.

So i have got Patron so i can own land now and done the quest for my 8x8 farm, I just want to know if i should place it down straight away without a house ? or should I wait to get my house then place the farm near it ?

If you find space, place it. You can always move later (if you demolish you get the design back and can place it elsewhere).

Likewise when you get the 16x16 farm, which will be alot harder to place, place it the second you get a spot and worry about finding the "nice spot with a view" later.

Unlike other MMOs, you will be traveling in the lowbie zones extensively even as a lvl 50. The most profiting trade runs is in fact mostly between the pvp / high level zones all the way back to the low level zones. The location of your farm relative to this is somewhat irrelevant , just more convenient to be near a central "Hub" . I have however found, it's more convenient to have your farms all nicely together vs. having 1 at extremely popular spot.

Had my first run to Freedich Island. We were like 2 guilds in 2 boats, about 20-25 players all with trade packs. So we arrived on the beach and ran straight into like 50 enemies , who slaughtered us all and took all our trade packs .

So lessons learned : Always send a scout ahead . The island on our server is normally not "camped" , it's more a case of timing .

We then made a 2nd trip, but this time i stayed behind in stealth on the island , as a scout. I could see the patterns, usually a large group arrives to drop off their tradepacks, they will hand around to see if any enemies arrives, if not, they return to their continents. So if your timing is off and you arrive on the same time as an enemy faction, someone is going to get ganked.

Anyway, so i could just tell my guildmates to hang back until the enemy guild left and they could sail in without any opposition.

The catch with Freedich island is, there is no harbor , the traders are in the middle of the island, so you need to walk from the beach to the center , and that's where most of the crap hits the fans it seems.

I must say we had alot of fun doing some PvP on the beach, after we already lost our tradepacks and well nothing better to do than PvP while we are there.

I need to find a guild me thinks. This warra warra'ing around with one or two mates is not working.

Yea, i suggest you do. I joined a relatively casual guild, but with alot of active players , about 20-30 online every night . They do inter-continental trade runs every night, not so much for the cash, but for the hell of it.

I think ideal is to go for a focused guild which does have some big plans, like building castles and merchant ships etc. I can see a few of the larger guilds on my server that have huge building operations going, entire farms filled with stone / lumber packs etc etc. There are just some things in this game you can't build without a guild.

Yeah i need to find something where i can contribute to a bigger goal. Maybe joining one of those focused guilds like you mentioned would make things a bit more meaningful.

I'll place my farm down tonight and try join a guild! Also need to get to level 15, I'v only played for about 2 hours in total so far, if that.

I am Nui . For newcomers i suggest you go for low pop server, you dont want be stuck without land in this game.

Awesome ! Placed my farm down last night, got the crops i need to make my first trade pack for the quest for the donkey, only thing I don't have is feed for the animals =/ Need to grow the crops first I think then use the knife and you get the feed as a by product ?

Do you guys have a guild there ?

I am assuming you put down small animals (ducks/chickens/geese) since the larger animals require a more expensive type of feed which needs a special crafting station to craft (it's not available anywhere, you need to craft the station yourself) . Alternative is to buy everything on the AH, assuming you got the gold ;)

On a side note, i see Trion announced Auroria is opening up 4 Nov. This is the continent to the north on the world map (it's always been there, just locked up to now).

http://www.trionworlds.com/archeage/en/2014/10/16/the-conquest-of-auroria-begins-this-november/

Six new zones will open with the launch of Auroria and four will be available for a guild to claim and rule from the safety of their player-built castle. 30% more housing space will be available to players throughout these four claimable zones.

New Dungeon, Vehicles, and More

• Serpentis, an end-game dungeon intended for 10 players, debuts with the launch of Auroria – though only the strongest and bravest adventurers should seek to enter its dreaded halls!
• New elite enemies and field bosses will emerge from their lairs to challenge intrepid souls hungry for great rewards.
• The Farm Wagon will be available for construction! A double upgrade over the Farm Cart, this vehicle can hold a total of four trade packs for maximum trade route efficiency.
• Finally, the Steamfish Submarine will swim into availability. Build your own and dive into a new era of stylish underwater exploration!

Gotten the hang of farming now, still learning the crafting side abit more, trying to figure out ways to make some gold cause its a bit short at the moment. Im about to turn in the quest to get my donkey also, want to get my 16x16 farm soon.

Any tips to make some gold at low level ? I have started mining a bit so hopefully i can sell some stone / iron on the AH. But dont know if I should save all the stone for my house when i need it.

Easiest gold for me is doing trade runs. Get that donkey, in fact doing the quest for the donkey will hand you alot of gold right there.

You don't need to be high level at all to do some of the profitable trade runs. There is a few routes that is quite profitable that is 100% safe , you just need to prioritize what you plant on your farm. I got a farm cart (can do 3 trade packs at the same time) and depending on my route, that is 15g-25g within 30-40 minutes , only thing stopping me from making even more is running out of LP to make the trade packs :).

Not sure which continent you are, but i'm on East , so routes like Silent Forest -> Villanelle (climb on airship) -> Falcorth = 8.6 gold for very little effort. Just for kicks i like to sail around the coast from Solis -> Villanelle (climb on airship) -> Falcorth for about 7g .

As for playing the AH, this is where things are different on each server. You will have to see what materials are selling well. On my server, stone and wood prices have dropped like crazy (like 18g for 300 stone) where worker compensation pots as gone up to like 18g . This tells me raw building resources are flooding the market, but there is not enough labor points to process all of that (i.e. turning Raw Stone -> Stone Bricks ).

So if you got the Labor , check what kinds of profits you can make from converting raw materials and compare that with the worker labor pots (that gives 1000 LP) .

Then there are the popular trade runs, check what the ingredients are for the tradepacks on those routes. For example the game has this thing where if too many players are running the same trade route with the same tradepacks the profits drops. So they are forced to run different routes OR make different tradepacks on the same route. So silent forest, which is popular , everyone is making the easy tradepack that uses processed fruit , but if you time it wrong your profit goes from 8.6g to as low as 7g. The alternative tradepack is made from promenades ...so there might be a market for that specific ingredient.

Also , things like Fertilizer/Eco-Fuel (now that everyone got ships and farm carts, they need fuel to go faster), is also selling for quite high prices.

So you need to do some research and see what state your server is currently in. There is even alot of money to be made from flipping properties, although you need an initial cash boost. Pretty much like real life, you buy property for cash, re-sell for a higher price.
