Those found to have made use of the exploit have now been permanently banned from the game, as outlined by lead producer at ArenaNet, Chris Whiteside. However, he’s offering a way out for those that wish to make amends for their crimes against Tyria. Anyone that submits a support ticket, pledging to give up all items purchased and all money rewarded from sales of said items, will have their ban switched to a 72 hour suspension. Once the account is re-enabled, players will need to stand by their promise or face returning to the depths of a permaban.
However, Mr Whiteside said this wouldn’t be a common event. In future, those exploiting bugs in the game wouldn’t be offered any redemption. “This is a first and final warning. Moving forward, please make sure you that when you see an exploitable part of the game, you report it and do not attempt to benefit from it.â€
