hey peoples,

new good looking game being "released" tomorrow, it is early access though. it looks very promosing and there is a console version planned.

About This Game:

As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements. Use your cunning and resources to kill or tame the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land, and team up with or prey on hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!

The game is ARK: survival evolved. it opens for purxhase 10 AM PST (which is 7 PM) on the 2nd of June (today)

here is their main website http://www.playark.com

and the steam link http://store.steampowered.com/app/346110

Think I've gone into one too many early access title. Most of which are survival based crafting games, like H1Z1 and frankly a little tired of them. As interesting as this is, I think I'll wait for a full release.

I tend agree with this. I understand the benefits of Early Access for the developers with a cash injection. But we are paying them to fix their product lol.

So, after this video, I'm a bit less excited for this game. I kinda thought it would be something else, but it looks a bit boring. So maybe I'll give it a wait until more content has been added.

I'm seriously craving a good dinosaur game but this isn't looking good enough to fill that void just yet. As said above it's just looking kinda boring and rough around the edges. Hopefully with the release of Jurassic World next week dinosaur popularity will explode once again and Capcom will finally remake/reboot Dino Crisis.

I think there's simply just too many of these survival crafting types of games. Though they are all different, they are alike in the mechanics and the fundamentals remain the same. Basically going back to our roots of becoming hunter gatherers. There's nothing that really stands out in this genre and is unique.

i've played this game for a bit, it'a a lot like Rust. the difference so far is that you can only learn new engrams (like Rust blueprints) when you level up, you get 10 engrams per level and each skill costs 3 Engrams. i think it will be a good game once they fix their initial launch problems. at the moment the game is horrendously optimized so people who are just over the minimum will struggle with a 15-25 FPS, my GTX 970 runs it like a dream with all things on "epic" quality so there are no problems with higher end PCs.

Only played about a hour so don't have a full experience just yet but at the moment i saw wait a little longer, I've got a feeling that this could be a very good game.

Lol there seems to be a phase that steam is goin through where everyone and their dog is releasing a survival game...

I might be hoping for too much! But hoping this game will be on the Steam Summer Sale!!!! =D

i t got released on the 2nd of june so I'm pretty sure it won't be there, plus it was no. 1 on most sold list for quite a while after release so it's done pretty well for itself. so unfortunately you'll gave to fork out that $25 if you really want it

anyone other than me playing this? im absolutely loving it.. i would appreciate a optimisation fix though.. I'm only running this game at 30-40 FPS with medium settings, high takes me to 20 FPS..

I've heard some pretty shite reviews on Rust on the steam store page... mostly due to a toxic community.

Let's hope this doesn't have a similar fate.

Game one of the most played on Steam atm, came out of nowhere. Then again I don't follow the survival genre..
But it doesn't seem to be an optimized game.

Ye I would say this is rust meets Jurassic park. Early access is just a means to beat "delayed gratification" and ppl are willing to pay big money to bypass this.

What happened to the performance? Is the game getting worse in terms of optimisation?

they added some things which i think put it down a bit but they constantly bringing out updates.. i also initially thought it was running great but when i brought up a fps tracker it was actually only like 25 FPS.. at the moment I'm playing with a mix of graphics between the highest and medium at around 30 FPS with a random drop to 15 every now and then (which lasts like 1.5 seconds) but other than that its fine [emoji1]
