Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

I was not aware that Freedom Cry was split into episodes, doesn't seem that way to me. :confused:

I did get the PhysX update and while it looks good, my PC can't really handle it either.

I could be wrong, I assumed it was like AC3. Still I'm going away on holiday so I won't be able to play it until 2014, might get it when I'm home then if that's the case.
 
So I installed AC4 this morning thanks to the Nvidia Holiday Bundle.

Running it on highest possible settings gives me 62 fps constant. This game knows how to cripple systems. And my god it looks beautiful. Only played up until you navigate the ship out of the bay at the start but wow. Seeing the whale jump out of the water. Climbing the trees and opening chests. The colour of the ocean. The textures on everything.

This game looks fantastic.

Indeed it does. I particularly love how the ship feels on the water. Also the sound on the ship is brilliant - turn up the surround and you can hear the hull and masts creaking around you - I love it.

Oh and the companion app is awesome as well.

Yeah I had the sound up quite high to get immersed in the game. Just the colour of the ocean really took me back. Looks so beautiful.
 
I love the graphics in a storm with lightning and waves, those are some great graphics. The beaches are also amazing
 
Heads up. AC4: BF is on 12 deals of Xmas special for R305.10. Probably only today though

PS: That's on PS network
 
Anyone know where I can get the cheapest version of Black Flag for PC? Preferably on disk 'cause a 30gig download will take forever and eat most of my cap.

R450-R500 seems a pretty expensive. I haven't brought a game from a shop in a while, but what happened to R350 releases?

Hmm...that Amazon offer is tempting. But the download...urgh. I see they have the disk version at $35 as well. It's a pity they don't ship to SA, or do they(if they did I'm guessing that they'll add import duties or something)?

Best way to check if they ship here is to add the item to your basket and proceed to checkout.

Once there, it'll list all the prices for shipping, import and taxes etc. It'll also tell you if it'll ship here or not.
 
@The_Imp_ZA, Amazon.com does ship it here but it's definitely not worth it. Amazon.co.uk ships here as well and it costs R573.92. May as well order it from Kalahari or BT Games.

R350 sounds like a good price for the digital version, but with my 2meg line that will take forever, and eat most of my cap. I think I'll wait and see if the boxed version at Kalahari comes down in price any time soon. I like boxes :p

Where are you based? I could always give you the game files on a disk on it. Then you just load it into your uPlay/Steam folder and perform a repair install once it's in your library. It'll download the missing files only and reduces your downloading :)

I found my favorite way of taking down frigates - swim to them and wipe out the crew on deck. Saves ammo :D

Also, need to update this thing - any patches that have borked the system or is everything ok? I recall one you guys have an issue with one of the patches.
 
I upgraded from my 560Ti to a 760, I have also maxed out the graphics and it looks amazing. I just had an issue during my update and now it wants me to reinstall the game, so note to self don't start an update and then turn on AC3.

Eish ... I hope it doesn't do the Uplay 'Lets delete your savegames' thing.
Maybe I should leave it as it is until I finish it. Nothings gone wrong apart from the flying crocodile.
