Na, you should be able to update it if you leave it to update itself, don't confuse uplay with multi-tasking

What sort of frames does your 760 push out? Do you play at 1080p?

Well the game seems to be capped at about 62.5 fps. I've tried running on low through to the max and it stays there.
 
Obligatory long stealth mission is long.

It's quite funny how the assassins act as dimwitted as the baseline soldiers are.
"Something moved in that bush!"
"It's gone now"
"It moved again! Isn't that something we assassins do just before we stab someone in the back?"
"Nah, it's probably nothing"
 
Still don't have internet at my new place, so I'm waiting to update and reinstall the game. But seems that my save games are indeed gone...

EDIT: Would any of you know if the app will still work, even if I do have some save game issues?

No idea, but last time I re installed AC 3 from scratch I got my saves back from U-play so yours might still be out there
