That's my concern. He's running at a very average resolution of 1920*1080. I want to see what this game does to a GTX580 SLi system @ 2560*1440. The only saving grace when running a game at such a high resolution is that you don't need to add large amounts of AA to get rid of jaggies. At that resolution, jaggies are barely noticeable even with no AA applied. Since he's already using 1.3GB of the available 1.5GB VRAM, I'm thinking that higher resolutions like mine will end up killing the GTX580's - but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Hopefully this game takes advantage of multi-core CPUs, and I'm not talking about 4 cores. I'm talking about 6 core CPUs :)

What did you guys have to do in order to stand a chance of getting Beta Keys? Or are they e-mailing all origin account holders?

OK, so CET is UTC +1 and we are UTC +2, that means they are an hour behind us.

That means we should get our Beta Keys from 2pm onwards.

Neo, you need the key to be part of the closed Beta. From Thursday onwards, as I understand it, you will be able to download it from Origin just by logging in, no keys needed then.

As a side note:
What format is the download from Origin?
Is it from the Origin website, BattleLog website or from the installed client?
Reason is if someone can post the file to an FTP or P2P, one can place the file in the correct location on the Origin install and it would think it is done with it.

I wonder which will be faster... Origin servers or alternative dl sites.

I entered the WAGE win a BF3 Key comp, it's only for 48 hour early acess. Open beta for everyone is on Thursday.

Sup dudes,

upgrade my pc on friday so I should be able to run BF3 at medium at least or what do you guys thinks?

now running:
MSI P67A-GD65 (upgraded)
2500k @ 3.3GHz (will get cooler at rAge and oc to 4.5Ghz) (upgraded)
8GB Vengeance DDR3 1600 (upgraded)
Acbel 660w PSU
Force 3D 5870 1GB (looking for another 5870 1GB so i can run crossfire)
LG 23" LCD 1920x1080

Cool bananas guys. Thanks for the feedback! I was a bit behind with info on the beta and how to get access. I'm glad that it's been made public - I shall download it on Thursday and my upcoming exams, will more than likely suffer.

Those are some cool specs. Personally I would have went with an Intel/nVidia combination as it was proven to be a winning combo, much like AMD/ATi (Same company, duh).
My planned spec PC is:
2500K 3.3GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
2 x Geforce 560Ti's
1000W PSUs

Problem is I need R8K+ for that upgrade.

DO NOT PANIC!

The Recommend specs are for High settings. If you turn off HBOA and motion blur, you'll be fine.

Whoo! whee! I'm with you on that Got Stats, Map work and Geographical perspectives to do and exams are in Oct/Nov.

Go with 8GB DDR3 of RAM and get a GTX560 (non Ti) IMO. You can pick up a GTX560 for 1.7k at rebeltech.co.za :)
