Battlefield 3 preped or not?

Currently i play alot of BC2 and recently upgraded my entire system

Current specs

CPU: X6 1055T
GPU: MSI HD 6870
RAM: Corsair dominator DDR3 4 GIG
MOBO: M4A87TD EVO

Now, if i may need to upgrade my logical choice seems the GPU

i brought the mobo in mind with the idea that i could Xfire when the time comes

however i have made a small oversight

the Mobo has 1X16 PCie 2.0 and 1X16 PCie 2.0 at X4

simple question, Running Xfire with an X16 and X4 bad idea?

am i better off buying a higher spec GPU?

i will be weighing in costs....

Rofl dude, I'm sure you'll be fine :D. If you feel the performance is not good enough, then get another GPU. Done!

I'm sure it won't be needed though. Wait for the beta and you will have a better idea. Sheesh bru, and you're the one ragging me about the joystick :P

I would get a different GPU IF you feel you need to upgrade m8. But I'm with Tooken, you should be able to push MP decently, unless you feel like you want to play an online FPS at ULTRA - which isn't quite the route to go.

You can, however, always hijack Tooken's monster GPU? :p

Well my opinion is if my current PC isn't strong enough then too bad. I'm not upgrading for a while, but we'll see how it goes.
 
Its not the 2nd coming guys xD Relax.
No doubt the graphics will be great, but there aint no way they'd beat Witcher 2 graphics, and if you can run that fine, you'll be set.

Haha true, but always wanted a Quad Core and getting the GTX560 for a super price ;) I am eagerly awaiting the BETA release in September.

Btw we all going hardware crazy... Wonder if it's 384/512 Friendly?
 
I'm sure it will still be 384/512 friendly, but at least I don't need to worry since upgrading to 1mb. I was getting worried about how much I might need to turn down settings but I'm optimistic that my trusty 5870 will still do well.

What I loved about BC2 was the sense of being in a warzone, as they say not "reality" but authentic. BF3 looks to push that authenticity even further.

So you think lol. Kinda like when people used to say buy a 1 gig hard drive, you will never need another one. Eventually people started saying, Oh you want a 500 gig, see you in a couple months lol
