Best HD TV for Xbox?

I love my Samsung 32". I had the choice between the Bravia and the Samsung and chose the Samsung because it has more HDMI ports.

more HDMI ports? So like you could plug your PC, Xbox and PS3 in all at the same time? how many ports?

I went to best buy to puchase a bravia 32in but ended up buying a 46in dytex for 50 bucks less. It is made by lg for best buy. I have had it for 1 year and it still looks great.

Thanks everyone for posting here. I am also trying to figure out what to go for and i'm going to restrict my search to sony and samsung. Will also be sure to check out macro.

My advice is this: 32" is perfect for gaming. Another thing is you wont really notice the difference between HD ready and HD on anything smaller then 50". And to get that full HD experience you really need a big enough room for it. My 32" is about 3M away from me in my lounge and works fine. For anything bigger then 40" you need at least 5M for optimal viewing and gaming.
Only if there is something seriously wrong with your eyesight. Or you sit too far from your TV. 5m is way too far away to watch movies on a 40" display.

Any thoughts on the difference between samsung's series 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8?

The higher the series number is, the more features it has. So obviously an 8 series is the top-of-the-line and usually the most expensive out of all of them. That said, you have to be VERY flippen careful when it comes to Samsung products. They over advertise the crap out of their stuff and half of the time end up blatantly lying about what their products have. To be very honest, unless you're 100% sure of what you want from a Samsung and have done extensive homework on the exact product model, I'd rather trust Sony.

I'm not buying biased. I have a Samsung myself (a very expensive one) and was bitten rather solidly with their false advertising.

I've got a Samsung 5-Series (not sure of the model number), full-HD, 32". Looks great with X-Box and PS3

i personally would go for a plasma over an LCD any day
plasma has much better colour reproduction over most LCD's in its price range and you get bigger screen for the same price
i recently just bought a samsung 42" 4 series plasma for R6000 :)
Mass effect 2 has never looked better than this hehe

Plasma is slower? :O
you mean in terms of refresh rate etc?
I dont exactly know how plasma tv's are rated but i have played on samsung and panasonic plasma's and have never noticed ghosting of any kind
modern plasma tv's dont have those issues. old lcd's had serious ghosting issues so you can see both technologies are improving through time.

For me most people wont spent over R6k on a tv so that they can just play xbox. You would want to watch media/tv and a plasma for me works best. I have yet to see an LCD that produces colours on the same level as a plasma without having to rob a bank :)

Colour wise plasma beats LCD hands down. Also has better Viewing angles and deeper blacks. But due to the physical size of the pixels you have to go big. At least 40".

I would love to get my hands on a Samsung LED LCD TV, but that'll only happen when I get myself out of my current cash flow slump......... 2012 maybe.
