Best TVs for gaming available in South Africa

I've got the last one mentioned on the list. Got it on special at Makro about 4-5 months ago.
Not a bad tv, but requires additional sound system. Even for normal tv, the internal speakers distort even on low volume.
 
Dion Wired had a flash sale yesterday - they were selling LG 47" sets for R2000.
Think they lasted for about 3 minutes. They were also selling BR players for R100.
 
When researching, it was even a surprise to myself that LG sets dominated the list :P

The reasoning is that LG's image processing engine is highly rated for fast moving images - i.e. gaming (nothing really faster than gaming).

The chips in the TV have to do a fair bit of processing power (and quickly) and LG's are highlighted for that.

Samsung's are phenomenal TVs (I have one myself), but they have a reputation for having slightly more input lag than other TVs. I mean, we're talking milliseconds here, but it still counts.

The higher range Samsung's with the best specs are also unfortunately not available in SA. So they'd definitely make the list, but it's unfair to list them if you can't get them here.

I've recently bought an LG TV because of the apparent superiority of their IPS panels.. Can't really compare it to anything but it is fairly good..
 
I've got the Samsung ES7500 46" and that is a thing of beauty. Given my needs i won't swap it for something else.

Can't wait for the upgrades to be launched and the PLEX app is one of the coolest things ever!

Hooking up my PS3 through a NAD T748 amp and full set of Mission 5.1 speakers

The Samsung range of HDTV's are superb options for gaming. I use a 32" Series 5 Samsung (which is now even hard to find to buy as the technology and series are advancing at quite a rapid rate) which is connected to my PC via HDMI, and the picture quality is very clear. It's good inside windows, good for games and good for watching movies. I'm sure this would apply to console gamers as well... so go Samsung if you want a quality gaming TV! My two cents worth! :)

Got the exact same one, and it is so awesome. Best TV purchase I've made so far. I've never been sold on LG for gaming. Too much input lag, very noticeable on fighting and rhythm games. Very surprised to so many LGs in the OPs article.
