Bioshock Infinite

Loves the storyline and characters of the game. The combat wasn't as good as the previous games due to the weapons being a little to much like a regular fps game and the powers not bring as good as the previous. Visually though the game is stunning.

Except for the fact that there's no damn physics. I love physics. :(

I enjoyed the game and it improved in some areas over Bioshock 1 but it went backwards on a couple, especially gameplay and 'RPGness'.

It's a really good game but just not quite as good as the original imho.

Excuse the necro, just want to add my thoughts on Bioshock Infinite's gameplay since I've been playing it a little more in my downtime from Dota 2

I wouldn't say its shit, but it sure is questionable... To make a not so adequate comparison, if I die in a crazy battle in Far Cry 3 (that shit can hit the fan pretty fast if you screw up), that shit makes sense. Theoretically, the BI combat should be fun, you have Elizabeth's Tears (which are supposed to give you a tactical edge), Vigors, and a varied arsenal of weapons at your disposal, but the level design (while excellent out of combat) along with the nature of how enemies are presented to you, is- for lack of better term- "spammy".

The enemy AI is super random (especially the heavy hitters), the sheer volume of enemies is overwhelming, in death your respawn is just as random, so you can't really say "Hey, this what I did wrong, how about I take a different approach" because the game has decided a different approach for you, the gunplay is lackluster. The problem is, they've given you tools that are meant to give you a tactical foothold in each encounter, but as soon as a huge encounter begins, all tactics go out the window (especially because of the level design).

You get hit from all directions, and I mean all directions, turrets, heavy hitters, and all manner of other enemies, and at this point, you can no longer process anything in a tactical manner. I'm all for difficulty and a rush (why I love Far Cry 3), but Infinite's combat is chaos, and not the fun kind :/

I'm really enjoying the game, but pretty much agree with everything you said. Its a hand holding game, specially dying has really no negative side effect. Quitting at the wrong time has a far worse side effect. It has an enjoyable story, smooth controls, unique style of world and graphics, but nothing else is special.

* resurrect *

Wow! I've just been in about 40 mins and it really really looks good. Shame on me for thinking oh hell another and letting it stand for so long :o

Played the game again, and bought the DLC pass. I wanted to play the The Burial At Sea 1 first and then the Clash In The clouds or whatever... Finished Burial At Sea, started clash in the clouds and was really disappointed to see its just a "see who can score the highest grind"

Same thing with the first Dishonored DLC. Its my own fault, should have read more about the DLC. Just feel its a cheek to make ppl pay for such a an addon.

anyway, my 2c.

I think I'm going to replay it again soon really enjoyed it the first time but usually on the second play through you notice the faults more.

I clocked a thousand gs on Bioshock Infinite when it was released. Brilliant game!

Just started Burial at Sea and finding it significantly tougher than original. Ammo is super scarce. Plus, Elizabeth in DLC lacks the innocent charm if the original Elizabeth :(

yup, exactly how I found it. Wait till the end, as they say, its a doozy.

It's made me want to play Bioshock 1 again!

I am really excited to play this game. Just have a few other games to finish before I start another one though

awesome timing dude, this is a mad special! had i not clocked BI twice over i would have been all over this like a bad rash

Just ordered. Haven't played the previous 2 games (have the first one on PC but it just doesn't work, think it's a Windows 7 issue) but this one looks pretty awesome, but due to not playing the previous 2 I sorta put off buying this one. Looking forward to finally playing it though :D.

don't stress dude, you will still enjoy Infinite without having played the other 2. Matter of fact, the 2nd game was nothing more than a cash-in which didnt add much to the canon.

having said that, you should readup the storyline for Bioshock 1 on the wiki to bring yourself up to speed. it will make a few things click more interestingly.

I don't think you'd have to have played the previous 2 to be able to enjoy Infinite. I'll be picking it up as well after just as a long a wait.

Will do for sure. Pretty excited. Just a shame I saw so late as my delivery will probably only come on Wednesday now and not tomorrow :p

Try hitting a wall really hard with your head... I had the exact same wish the first time I read Lord Of The Rings, wanted to experience the books all over again.
