Blade & Soul

Cool. Might have been because my client is Alpha. We've made the guild on Mushin, and are heading towards the first instance, so anyone who'll be joining Thur must just give me a shout (Yoshemaru). :)

There was a post about what Mushin will be called on EU, however, I will post on the Grim Wolves Facebook page at 8 pm after I've confirmed the correct name. Looks like we're going to have quite a few Saffers joining us this weekend! :)

EDIT: We're on SOHA EU.

I'm a casual player. Can I still join your guild?

I know some guilds have crazy requirements

I find this kind of attitude puts a damper on things. There are two types of players: 1) Those who perhaps don't have a lot of time, and want to relax and enjoy MMOs casually when they do, 2) and those who wish to progress in end-game. I don't see why guilds can't house both. While a portion of us are competitive and do strive for progress, there is no reason to force every player who joins us to do the same. Our aim is to create a place (in every MMO we play) where SA folks can have a laugh in-game / on TeamSpeak AND have the opportunity to progress in end-game if they choose to do so. :)

EDIT: The only thing that has annoyed us in the past are players who demand to be carried through dungeons/raids (for gear or attunement) and then give up the first raid they sign up for. It's just a big ol' waste of time for all parties involved!

Greetings, fellow Crickets, Jyan, and Jyansei!

<Grim Wolves> extends an invitation for you to participate in our Blade & Soul Founder's Pack Giveaway!
We love the game, and would like to contribute to it's awesome EU community!

I would like to mention that:

â–º The giveaway is legitimate, and has been approved by NCSoft staff.
â–º Entry is restricted to EU region players.
► As per social media legal, site registration / likes / shares are not mandatory to participate (but would obviously be appreciated (✿◠‿◠).
â–º Winner selection will be point-based. You do not HAVE to fill in all of the fields, however, the more fields you complete, the more entries you receive, the higher your odds are of winning.
â–º The competition will close December 17, 14:00 UTC.
â–º Participants with the most points will be entered into a random draw, and a winner will be selected.
â–º Winner will be announced, and will receive their Founder's Pack digital key via email.

Best Regards,
Yoshemaru!

For those who are either considering, or joining us on Jan 15th or 19th, please note that we will be on WINDREST. Don't forget to sign up HERE if you haven't already.

Can anyone explain to me whats so special about this game? The gameplay vids on youtube look like nothing special, just more bouncy boob graphics and action combat. It looks very Korean grinder'ish.

There's nothing really special about it except the combat system, which has the depth of a fighting game like street fighter. If that isn't enough to appeal to it's probably best to skip it.

So I'm thinking of hitting up a low pop server tomorrow to avoid sitting in 5 hour queues.

It's hard to say what 'is special' about it. It's definitely targets Anime fans. I'd say if you're not a big Anime fan, you might not feel that there's anything special about it. If you are, you'll probably enjoy it more. The story is good, and the game play is dynamic and fun, and the end game content is more forgiving / acessible for casual players. The Westernised version is less of a grind than previous versions (I can say this with certainty as I've played all of them since 2012). Ultimately, it's about personal preference where MMOs are concerned. Those of us who've played for years are still as excited as we were back then and I recognise tons of players from way back still going balls to the wall even now (which is uncommon these days where MMOs are concerned).

Head Start has obviously been very successful, so the servers that BETA players decided on are currently full (We're on Windrest). Since we still have quite a few members set to join us at launch, we have already created a second guild on Cardinal Gates. If anyone's interested, contact me or check out the detailed post on our forums (if you're already a member).

You can also add me in-game: Yoshemaru = Windrest / Yoshikazu = Cardinal Gates

I'd also like to add that, the reason why so many of us were prepared to invest money in the game is that, like NCSoft, we knew from the outset that it was a 'sure thing'. The game is still booming in the East, and we already knew how many players there would be, as the majority never stopped playing! I'm also positive that NCSoft had employess on the private servers, who data mined numbers. We know all of the patches and classes that are to come, because they already out in the East. All of the new 'hit and miss' MMOs I've played over the past few years have exhausted me, and I knew that wouldn't be the case with Blade & Soul, or I certainly would'nt have spent money on Founder's Packs and Premium Membership. Simpy put, the game won't fail because it hasn't for the past few years, and for me that's a relief. I'm tired of the constant gambles of modern MMOs, and just want to have fun this year for a change. Thankfully, there are a lot of veteran B&S players who feel exactly the same way. I guess I'm trying to say that the game doesn't really need new players to be successful, it already is. It's not a new game. (^_^)
