Blade & Soul

So I tried out BnS tonight and i love it :D So far i'm having loads of fun and the combat is pretty good imo.

There is this one little thing that kinda bothers me and maybe it just me but, playing with friends on teamspeak is how we do most things and whenever i launch BnS my "Push to Talk" key no longer gets picked up. I have to alt-tab out of game in order for TS to pick up that I've pressed the key. I really don't like having voice-activation enabled and i'd rather much prefer push to talk as the alternative.

Would love to know if anyone else has been experiencing a similar issue and if you managed to fix it.

Have you tried going out and resetting the PPT talk button? Perhaps the button you chose clashes with a keyboard shortcut in game? FWIW I use the left Ctril button and it works.

I did try and rebind the PPT key to a mouse button but that didn't work either. I'll try and bind some other key tonight and see if that works. Thanks

Yeah wasn't too bad, actually had a lot of fun playing Blade Master. We got to level 14 in about 3 hours of play so it doesn't feel overly grindy as yet.

My initial impressions thusfar:

The game is a very generic MMO (Think Wildstar / GW2) with the usual kill x, collect y quests. The main story line is all voice acted sofar (I'm at level 34 now) and is interesting. The side quests are text driven and the text gets long winded and my ADHD kicks in and I just click through them sometimes.

Now the gameplay is great; You get to glide, dodge, dive out of the air and no need to stand still to cast (except for a few spells). If you like Anime (complete with the jiggles and jangles) then this is right up your alley.

I love the skill system that you can adjust it to suit you (and no penalties / cash to alter it). I like the gear setup with the use of soul shield and weapons / adornments that can be leveled up / fused etc.

I have only dabble a bit in PvP but it could be fun. It basically works according to your 'uniform'. You put it on and are able to take on the opposite faction and remove it when you are done (I gave up after getting steamrolled by a few 45's). There are PvP quests as well oh and take note, there are various different factions that you can fight for.

I have not explored crafting at all so cannot comment on that.

There is so much more to do but I am basically leveling up a main character for now.

Is it worth a bash? Most definitely.

So i think I've managed to solve my dilemma with TS and BnS. While in game i alt-tabbed out and closed TS, reopened it "Run as Administrator" and the alt-tabbed back in.

From then on the PTT key started working :D Seems running TS as administrator did the trick.. Don't know why it didn't start as Admin in the first place.

FYI, it's safe to say that the Premium queue is basically 0 (even though non-Premium members may see "400 Premium members in the queue", this is basically BS, as you log in, it tells you "#15 Premium members are ahead of you", and you get logged in immediately. Until they fix the perma-login thing, it's a good idea for non-Premium players to just log in the morning before you go to work (if you're on Windrest) to avoid queues later on in the day. I personally believe that this queue thing will be resolved in a few days, as many new players will join other servers.

UPDATE: Queues seem to be stabilising, and we are getting more South Africans joining us, so obviously getting onto the server / logging in has become easier. Hope to see you in-game on Windrest. ~ Yoshemaru

I joined Windrest this morning and got straight onto the server. Tried now and the wait time is like 3 hours . Anyway I went with the Destroyer and really enjoyed my time with the game so far. The Prologue/Tutorial was awesome.

So I switched to Force Master on Friday (best decision ever). We are all at level 30 atm, still enjoying the heck out of the game. I only wish there were more dungeons - a 16 level gap between dungeons is a little meh. Also premium queues FTW. :D

I just wish Mushin's was open as we have 45's who have to wait a bit and just doing poh, Arena, and farming atm. Even so, everyone's having a lot of fun. Most of our players are Premium, but the queue was a bit rough this weekend even for Premium. Hope they sort it out soon.

Is there a way to transfer between servers, I randomly chose a server and ended up on Cardinal Gates, I've only played a bit and really enjoyed it, but got side tracked. Played solo until now and thought it might be a good idea to look where other South Africans are.

Unfortunately not. I'm not sure where the other South Africans are playing together (maybe ask Isen?). We currently have 44 members on Windrest, with about 15 of those being South Africans, and are still awaiting another 5-6 South Africans who've opted to wait until the queues died down. I also have lots of people who've added me to friends on Windrest, but I haven't had any luck catching them online (can't seem to whisper them). :D

EDIT: We did try and make a guild on the other server, however, it became apparent that most people who wanted to join us didn't want to be on another server, so they just sucked it up, payed the R200 for Premium, and are now with us on Windrest.

Hey VindicatoR yeah we rolled on Cardinal Gates since it was one of the two that were open at the time. We are currently level 36 so probably quite far ahead.

Ah cool, that might give me some more motivation to play since going solo always end up badly for me in the long run.(Tera/Aion) :)

Think my character name is Vindisama.

It's pretty cool that we are getting all of that so soon, by the time I hit the current level cap there will likely only be a week left before the new content arrives :D.

Cool, will send you an invite. We could use a fourth member for the end game content.

Finally started playing again and managed to get to level 30~ I think, really enjoying the progression of skills and loving the combat.

Isengard Are you guys still playing?

Yeah we are but very off and on atm. The 40 to 45 push is actually proving to be really boring. I do want to get to max to check out the end game, but the game really offers no challenging content while levelling so it's beginning to lose my interest because of it...
