Blizzard shutting down Real money Auction house

So does this announcement change your views on Diablo III, blizzard? Will you give Diablo another shot?

I never really had a problem with the game as such, but I can imagine this will only be a good thing. Very good news.

I don't own this Diablo (none of them actually, but I played DII before) but this does make the game more appealing.

Epic news this but I think its a little bit late.
Although I do love playing this with my gf and we are finally able to do inferno MP10 :D

Might this be one step closer to not caring about the online only function on the pc, which is why the probably stopped caring about it on the console versions, they ten to one ported it over with the clear knowledge that they are killing the auction house...

Not just the rmah the gold ah as well.

"we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III."

I agree the damage was done when people bought the game to simply bot and cash out on $250 a item.

On another note, scamming will increase about 1000% :(

To me its bad news. they should've just removed the RMAH.

All this will do is cause people to have to grind some more or do deals on the black market.

I guess I won't be making money via RMAH anymore if it's being removed :(.

And that's why I'm so glad. I stopped playing because the only reason I was playing was to find cool loot to sell.... Now I can find cool loot for myself.

The number of people that will grind for the black market is far far less than those that would use the AH. As the developers said in the video on Blizzard's website, this changes the objective of the game by "short-circuiting" the reward loop. So the trade-off between people using the blackmarket and people not having fun because the game is crap is worth losing the AH.

So, to clarify, I am very very pleased with this move and I might actually give it another bash. If they give me an offline mode, then I will even buy the expansion.

i dont think more people will start playing... even if the drops are more common. People have been made to uses the Action house and now they will drive for a way to sell items. You will now see alot more scamming, hacking, spamming. If an offline mode is there maybe. But about 70% of players will be more than likely be fooled into buying an item on the "black market"

Look at the game now play it with out using the Action house and see how far you will get. Only a select few would carry on playing. By playing not just a few days.

Well I am sure they will address the loot table after the AH is gone.
In all honesty my barb pushes 300k dps, and I barely used the AH. I just hated the fact that the drop rates were so kak.
Hopefully this will sort all that out.

But it was still used...
Im not trying to say that the game will die more. I just dont see how every player will be going "OMG OMG AH is going YES now i can play properly like it used to be." I see about 80% of the players going back to the game trying it out for a few days then goes back on the pile to collect dust.

When the expansion comes out and the new system comes into play will be cool to see how they going to bring it back the spark.

i rate the game will come out around that time as well.

Take away a system from people that they got used to for a long while, then take it away you will have people rage.
