Their head office used to be a lot better when Shannon was still in charge of things. She always gave excellent personal service since she left we haven't gotten the same service.

Still get great personal service from the management at the Brooklyn store though.

Personally I only place my order online but pay and collect in store.

I applied for a job at BT Tyger Valley. In the interview explained my love of gaming, know-how everything. Got turned down, not enough sales xp. Im sure it has its perks but if i look at the staff turn around at Tyger Valley i think its not worth it.

Heh... Really, their sales experience relies solely on mumbling to each other. I mean, really. What more experience do you need, sales-wise, other than an interest in the job you're doing and a polite, modestly charismatic demeanour?

It's really quite simple, I think. People want assistance and a friendly face, not to be bullied into a corner or harassed ala telemarketers.

Personally, and this is just me, but when I enter any kind of store similar to BT, I just want a polite, "Hello" and "Can I assist you with anything?" to which I'll say no unless I do need assistance.

The most difficult part of their jobs relies on being able to use a self-explanatory banking terminal and a Point of Sales system which is also self-explanatory and can otherwise be guided. The only other part comes in during cashing up and opening up, when you need to do the financial (banking) side, which is, to my knowledge, the manager's duty.

The only thing you need in a retail job, is a truckload of patience, a friendly face and the ability to put up with absolute low-lives who either treat you like the local free therapist (thinking you could be bothered with their lives), or like crap (the ones who think they have the right to make their problems yours), which is inevitable in any industry where you deal directly with the public.

I guess what I'm trying to say, after this retarded rant, is that to decline your application based on not enough "sales experience" is like weeing in the wind. It might be a fantastic short-term idea, but in the long-run, you're only soiling yourself.

I had a terrible customer experience over the past 4 weeks with BT Games and eventually took my business elsewhere. But, I did get a laugh when I called one of the other branches to query about a product's availability and the BT employee on the other end stated that they were out of stock and then did a kind of Nelson from The Simpsons "Ha Ha" laugh. Not very professional, but the absurdity of it made me smile.

I've had many a bad experience from BT Games here in Pavilion in Durbs. The final straw came when they sold off my pre-ordered Edition of Fallout 3 with the bobblehead figurine  and they are absolute stupid when it comes to knowledge of any games whatsoever

i made my self swear not to go the online or telephone router ever again, unless its in store at a btgames i wouldn't bother. rather go via zaps, kalahari, tgx, look and listen or take2.

The BTGames site is one of the reasons they are not my first choice. I only use them when my other choices, like Take2 cannot help.
I haven't had any problems the few times I used it, but the site is just not friendly to use and the security / operation of it, leaves much to be desired.

ive never had a problem with btgames  and ive always got my item the following day if u order before 12pm

I mean look at this situation...

I ordered a xbox VGA cable yesterday, they sent me an email saying "When we confirm the stock we will notify you" 1 hour later got confirmation so i then purchased it with my CC.

I receive the cable this morning at 10am.

I get no problems with BT

if only we all had service this way.

I have never ordered from BT games so I can't comment, but when first visiting the site I was a bit shocked and found it difficult to navigate and locate what I wanted. I've used Take2 for years, perhaps I'm just stuck in my ways, but I think the BTgames site could use an overhaul.

i find take2 harder to find stuff than btgames. i only once had a problem with btgames. was related to the Red Alert 3 expansion. i preorder it and they never let me know they not getting it anymore. other than that never had problems

lol its alphabetical how hard can that be?

Ignore my ignorance :P

I think the homepage is way too cluttered for my liking at least. It would be awesome to see sections like "BEST SELLERS", or "Whats HoT", or "Popular".
Another cool idea is when viewing a game, it would list a "games you may like" based on your current selection. There are always ways to improve your site ;)

I can only give an example of say.. www.play.com for a few ideas.

There's a mini section at the bottom of the page.

There's obviously ways to improve it but I have only never had a problem finding anything. It *looks* quite nice.

Again, I don't think the "look" of the site itself is bad. But small things, for example on the main site, notice the Aion pre-order box? Clicking on the box takes you to the Aion product's page. Clicking on the Aion text takes you to a Harry Potter game.

The functionality of the site is finicky and sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Try changing your address and information or adding things to your wishlist, log off, log back on and see if everything you changed is still there. I can almost guarantee you that maybe a third of the details you changed will have taken effect.

The fact that the site's developer advertises herself at the bottom left as being from Bryncoed Software, then goes on to give an Mweb e-mail address, does very, very little to bolster confidence in the level of professionalism taken to develop the site.

And, in case you haven't noticed it yet, there is no security certificate. Meaning, in purely simple terms that there is no encryption between your computer and the server when you log into your account. Your information, details and privacy is not protected. Each time you shop there, you take an unreasonable risk. It's as simple as that. If you don't understand why a security certificate is important, then please, do yourself a favour and find out.

Again, I, personally, have no problem with the company. I have no problem with the general "look" of their website. My problem is the lack of commitment in the maintenance, functionality and security of the site. It needs work. If you cannot (or simply don't want) to see that, then you are most likely a fanboi or blind, or perhaps even both.

Worst of all, you don't have to look far to find a lack of professionalism in the site. There are spelling errors, typos and the like on almost every page.

*Sigh* It's really very simple. When it comes to functionality and "polish" (as some people like to call it) does BT Games' website compare to the likes of Take2? No. When it comes to security and professionalism, does BT Games' website compare to the likes of Take2? No. Could BT Games' site rival the likes of Take2 if they even half-way bothered to bring it up to scratch? Most definitely.

If you want to support a company, you shouldn't be afraid of giving them constructive criticism. They can only improve upon it. If they don't, then they're not much of a company, are they?

Ah, but sometimes stubborn impudence will prevail in the face of reason.
