Can anyone recommend a good Pc gaming headset under R1500?

I know that they are kind of on the low end of thing but i recommend these hs g700v's

i bought them as i start out headset several years ago, still use them, like all gaming headsets the highs and mids are good, but the bass is terrible xD, you get a vibrate bass button great comfort in 8hrs + gaming and a pretty decent mic for ts or even possibly yt.

Anyway cheap and you can use the budget somewhere else maybe?

I've gone through a few reviews and they keep mentioning the headset is a little on the heavy side.. Any truth to those "rumors"?

It's definitely not light. Less than 400g I'm sure. I honestly would not have thought it so absurdly heavy to mention in a review - fact is it sits really well on your cranium and I have larger than normal ears and find the fact that they fit in the cups, glorious. I have not once felt fatigue or any discomfort for that matter from wearing them.

The true beauty of the set really shows when you use the supplied dial and software - They blew my Siberia V2's out of the water!

I had those as well. Gave them to a friend cos I got annoyed playing BF3 with him and he had no headset. Surprisingly good quality seeing as they're so cheap.

Rocken' my Zalman ZM-HPS200, which I bought for R120 :p. I equalised them, installed Razer Surround and now they sound pretty good. They are also nice and comfy :D

For a really good quality headset i would recommend Turtle beach. Some of there headsets are really affordable as well if you know where to look.

If you are going to offer advice then do it properly, just mentioning a brand is pointless. When somebody as what games you like do you say an EA game.

In this case

Which headset?
Which ones are affordable?
Where does one look?

Basically you've done nothing but waste our time

If you are going Turtle Beach then the PX22 looks like a great option. Especially if you are using it with consoles.

I just got my Razer kraken pro's (delivered in 2 days by takealot.com) and i must admit they are great.

Complete over ear, for super comfort. The microphone sound quality is great (may need some eq'ing) - Same with the speakers... The bass is a tiny bit too overpowering, but that can be easily changed.

For R990 bucks i recon this to be worth the money

4.5/5

Turtle Beach supposedly has bad build quality, how true is this?

I have also seen this in some places. I have never personally used a set, I'm just going from reviews but from what I have read particularly about the PX22's is that the build quality is pretty solid.

The videos I saw on YouTube have mic tests and the mic on this headset sounds the best out of all the ones I heard from watching reviews.

Also they have a cloth earpad which is nice; I don't like the leatherette stuff that a lot of headphones use.

Agreed on the cloth, mine are inter-changeable but the cloth definitely sits better than the leather, however I have cats and thus the leather, attracting less hair, suit me better :P

PX22 are what I use for recording, the sound quality on the mic is astounding.
Wyvern linked a youtube vid earlier in TK I think where you can hear it in action. That was recording via TS so the quality is normally even better.

There is one MASSIVE caveat with this set though that should be said. (Wish I knew before buying mine)
There is a slight "Whistle" / White Noise in the cups.
While you get used to it quickly it can be very annoying.

Get razer kraken pro

R990 from takealot. Super comfortable with very good mids and highs (bit too much bass) and great microphone quality :D

Most people who review it say the exact opposite. They say the bass is there because it is a gaming headset, and works great for gaming while the highs are dissapointing and the mids are average. It is great for gaming because it is comfortable and stereo (debatable). @OP: If you want it just for gaming get these ^, if you want to use them for music as well, rather get something else.

Ok, i guess you can debate some of those things but i have found the headset to be very very good thus far
