Capped vs Uncapped?

Do they still throttle uncapped accounts? I'm on a capped line and my internet speed is like lightning but it really sucks having to top up these days.

Depends what ISP.. some throttle like Mweb.

I always recommend everyone the Afrihost business package, unshaped/unthrottled/uncapped.. pure internet joy!

Okay, requested my ISP to move me over to uncapped. Will see how speed goes but think savings will be worth it regardless.

No issues with my Mweb uncapped ...... I use the internet as I wish and never get close to any threshold so I have no fear of throttling.

I have to be honest, my cap is at 25GB per month with WebArica and I've got a very stable 10mb ADSL line. I do not reach my cap before month end. The ONLY way I got close on month was when both my wife and I downloaded games via STEAM and Origin - along with a buttload of windows updates and youtube movies.

What do you guys do to justify uncapped accounts? If it's piracy, be honest and say you download movies/series. Beyond that, I can't find a reason to get uncapped yet.

They throttle and shape you when you get to a certain data limit on my uncapped account which is with Afrihost but they haven't done it for the last 4 months, so that might be a good sign.

I download as I wish, yaaar

My pc is constantly streaming music playlists through youtube(so much amazing covers and electro tunes). I also watch loads of indy documentaries on vimeo which only streams in super mega ridonk high quality. Steam specials and Humble deals destroy my cap too. Actually have passed on so many sweet deals because of my damn cap.

I'm with MWeb and they hit me hard every month. I cant do anything because the internet is so slow. Moving to Afrihost :D

I will never be able to survive on a cap. I Youtube daily and with Steam and PS3 game downloads being as huge as they are, uncapped is a necessity. I can easily download/use 100+ gig a month including the PS3 free games that you get per month that each can be upwards of 13gig to download.

Are you being serious? I use 25GB within the first few days of the month and that's only legit use. Unless you basically never use the internet I cannot see how anyone can survive on 25gb in 2014. My Steam downloads alone make up about 30-40GB a week.

I use that in a day :(
