Coffee drinkers unite

If any of you guys are in JHB, stop in at Doubleshot roastery in Braamfontein. The guy who runs the place is super-knowledgeable about coffee, and also happens to roast some AWESOME beans.

The good stuff I have comes from there :p

I'll send my bro there,he SUPER loves coffee.

House of Coffee's VIP gold makes my day. I bought a shitty plunger and started indulging.

I have the utmost respect for Frisco and Ricoffy which got me through poverty but now I crave something filtered and brewed

Respect to you, Squire.

Hey guys

Any of you try that Nestle Coffee Green blend?I had a cup this morning of it and it was quite nice.

Green coffee? Environmentally friendly or is it just the flavour?

Attended a lengthy meeting this morning - approx. 3 hours - without coffee. My craving was so intense. I believe that I am addicted :( and do not have the will power to break this addiction. Such is life.

So I mentioned this discussion to a buddy of mine and he launched into a borefest about how wonderful that poop coffee is ...... like seriously :wtf: Are any of you into the poop flave?

Craving is one thing, withdrawal symptoms are something outright worse and evil!

I like coffee and all, but that's where I draw the line

Good news fellow coffee freaks

The Tribecha at tuks has a 10% discount for those who bring their own thermos flasks. My daily caffeine kick just got cheaper :)

Kopi Luwak?

That's for people with not enough sense and too much money.

When you guys deviate (if at all) from the standard coffee flavor, what do you enjoy? I found an awesome French vanilla that is so mild, you only really get it a few seconds after the sip. There also used to be a hazelnut one that I was fond of but it vanished :(

Hazelnut filter coffee is awesome. I also once placed condensed milk in my coffee and that was also pretty good.

BP has a nice special regarding their coffees. You can buy a nice travel cup (500ml) for R30 and then just refill it for 9.50 (coffee and cappuccino) --- some BP stations will let you choose from any of their hot drinks for R9.50

Pity I don't really like BP coffee, still its a good deal

I went to the nespresso store in Dbn, and bought a few capsules. These guys...

My issue was, when I got home afterwards, I just couldn't work out how it cost me about R50 more than I thought. Turns out they tell you their prices without VAT.
I couldn't believe it, I thought that was illegal?

I am a bit picky when it comes to coffee though I currently have 2 or 3 cups a day, made using a Moka Express stove top coffee maker with beans hand ground using a Hario grinder and milk frothed in a cheap coffee filter press, cheapest decent cappuccino around. Currently using Ethiopian coffee beans from Bean Green, a local roastery in Durbs, R42 for 250g.

Yesterday's coffee at the Mybroadband Conference was weak as wee. Lacked a bucket load of nuclear waste :D

We were given a Nespresso coffee machine. We have been experimenting with different flavours. Quite enjoy the decaff (intensity 7) in the evening. Quite strong but won't keep me awake. And then a double dram of whisky added just makes it purrfect.
