Comic Books

Sweet bud thanks for that
I also like to follow the main story arcs only , like age of ultron etc those that span a few books
But short runs like this I always feel like I am missing something ,I know that sounds silly ( I sometimes grab a few scans here and there to piece things together , just to get the whole picture .Which is what I will ed up doing for this )

The issue I have with this is that the continuity is all messed up , because half the Characters are tied up in Avengers Arena

Yeah. I really hate massive events. Especially because you don't have the whole story unless you end up getting 6 extra books per month for the duration of the event.

I'll phone Cosmic later on to get the Avengers portions of the story, but I'm not taking anything else.

That being said the Avengers run is really awesome the story is quite good nothing ground breaking but its a whole lot better than half the other stuff we been getting .
I got on to it a bit late but its worth the time

Yeah, I have read the first issue and have heard good things about the run. Hickman does both Avengers and New Avengers, so it is bound to be good. I will collect Avengers in trade soon enough...by pure luck, I have been collecting New Avengers from the beginning.

Ok, so I'm halfway with Battle of the Atom. This is actually very cool.
Just a head's-up though...All-New X-Men is crossing over with Guardians of the Galaxy in December for the Trial of Jean Grey. More crossovers. When will this ever end?

Lol complaining about crossovers? Come to DC guy and realise that you know nothing about that shit :D

To the comic collectors on here, starting to let go of the bulk of my collection. Here are links so long for the BATMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS.

Jeez that's a nice collection, especially the later Batmans and DCs. Grant Morrison did some of those. Unfortunately, my girlfriend will kill me if I bring more floppies into the house.

hi guys

man, am i glad i stumbled across this thread! i have been dying to rave about my new addiction. Graphic Novels :-) a couple weeks back i went to Mandela Square and ended up in Exclusive Books. While idly walking around, i stumbled across their GN section and picked up Watchmen. I read a couple pages and was hooked! although their prices were insane, so didnt buy then and there but instead ordered online.

anyways, long story short, i am busy building up a decent collection. Thus far, here is what i'm packing :

Batman : Dark Knight Returns
Batman : Year One
Supreme Power Vol 1,2,3
Astonishing X-Men Vol 1,2,3,4
X-Men : Messiah Complex
Wanted

I am awaiting delivery of the following :
Watchmen
V for Vendetta
Marvel Zombies (written by Robert Kirkman)
Y: The Last Man Vol 1
From Hell
Superman : Secret Origin (illustrated by Gary Frank)
Superman : Brainiac (illustrated by Gary Frank)

I have to say, the Supreme Power series has been excellent! just read the first 2 volumes but i love Frank's artstyle.

Oh nice additions! I completely agree with Morrison's X-Men and Ennis' Punisher (Just finished reading all of those). Also, Moore's Swamp Thing is amazing. I now have all the "Y" Trades waiting for me at home, which I'll start with soon.
Also, just added the Boys, for good measure.

i am keen to check out "Y: The Last Man". waiting for stock to come into Outer Limits. where do you guys buy your stock from? (In GP)

Also in GP. I'm pretty loyal to Zed Bees in Edenvale. They have a fantastic selection there, but they are priced slightly above Outer limits. That being said, they bag AND board all new editions. I recommend them highly. If I can't use Zed Bees (mainly because I don't live nearby) I use Outer Limits. Those are the stores I use exclusively. The others are overpriced and run by D-bags (in my experience).

ultimate list we have right there Superman red son and superman year one should be on there for good measure
