Comic Books

I'm really enjoying the current Superman and Action Comics run (the Truth arc is really good :)), and the current Superman/Wonder Woman run piggy-backing off of the Truth arc. Also, freaking Darkseid War on Justice League is intense. Also, peeps should get on the new Justice League of America comics.

I have dropped DC new 52 , there were a few convoluted books and I just got bored . I only got excited about secret wars because of the New universe they are pulling out .

You're still on your Superman kick? :p I can basically always just gauge what is happening in the Superman universe by speaking to you.

Same. I'm basically only collecting Batman and Gotham Academy (GAIS GET THIS, especially if you were into Wolverine and the X-Men)

I also like Supes but the new powers and them taming him , idunno the chrachter needs something more to happen . There isnt enough inter character drama for me and to much ( if that possible ) flash ( not flash the character , flash as in top level )
Batman is awesome , but truthfully I have only picked up a few books here and there .
I always say I will get it when the run is over and then forget , which is why I'm trying to stick to a single arc now .

Im still on the Mortal Kombat train, only 2 issues left from what i can see, but its a really good read if you enjoy Mortal Kombat! Some really surprising moments!

One issue left on Fantastic Four: Authoritative Action. It is a sequel to FF: Unthinkable, but it is considerably more weird that the first series. I also was not really a fan of the first few AA issues, but they seem to get the original artist back to close it off.

I've dropped a lot of monthlies, I think I am down to three series now. I can finally concentrate on my trade collection for a while.

What are you guys reading? Tom, I'm assuming Walking Dead and/or MK? :D

Funnily enough though, iv just started reading all the Warcraft Comics... Pretty strange characters, but im sure it will be worth the read "whistling:

You're really into the licensed game books huh? Apparently the Tomb Raider stuff and Dark Horse's Mass Effect books are pretty good, I'd check that out if that's your thing.

To be honest, the Warcraft Lore is something i have loved since i got my first PC with Warcraft : Orcs and Humans! Its not that im into game books per say, but i will never play WOW and i just really want to know what the story would have been had we got a Warcraft 4... (my hopes are still high...)

I still love the Marvel Comics, Im waiting for a bit more of the secret wars to come out before i get involved...

Apparently Secret Wars is pretty good. I haven't bought into any major events for a while now, because I spend a lot of money and get disappointed. If it ends well, I'll pick up some of the collections.

I am burning to read Howard the Duck, I've got all 5 issues at home and I haven't touched it yet. That's what I'll dive into when I'm done with FF.

The end of Fantastic Four: Authoritative Action has one of the most unexpected cameos in existence.

I've given Afterlife with Archie a shot. This is nothing like an Archie book, which means I like it a lot. The art by Francesco Frankavilla is probably the best horror art that I have seen in a comic book. I would recommend it to anyone and you'll probably be able to get it on the cheap with Comixology when Halloween comes around.

Lastly, I've also been reading Days of Future past (halfway with that) and then I'll move onto the Xtinction Agenda.

So not so sure if any of you guys saw the new Marvel TV series, Jessica Jones? I started reading the comics last night, got through the first 3, and I must say its pretty dark... Definitely not your normal Marvel Comic... But very well written, and the art is fantastic...

I like to read comics of shows like this that i know nothing about... I had not even heard the name Jessica Jones till a friend sent me this

And now i have a new favorite YouTube channel... :wtf: The cycle is never ending...

Also the new Walking dead comic came out on Wednesday, They really are building up to something big... and people know its issue 150.... 147 was a pretty run of the mill filler issue, but it was still decent content...

aaaaaaaand BOOM! Lets not let this beaut of a thread lie dormant for another month... Come on gents "whistling:

I think I must get into something new. After DC's the New 52 I just lost complete interest. At least I still got quite a lot of golden oldies I'd like to read again in my collection. Apart from the Walking Dead, not much is pulling my attention. Waiting for issue 150 to come out then I will binge read again :)

Hey guys!

I've been insanely busy, so I haven't had much time to post in here.

Flex Mentallo is what's been on my reading list. Pretty standard Grant Morrison book, except that it is really a reflection of himself in the book. Also, the art by Frank Quietly is superb.

I dropped lots of books, I've only got three on my list at the moment. Picking up a subscription to Marvel Unlimited, which is $9.99 to read unlimited Marvel books, and it is only 6 months behind the current releases. I reckon I'm going to start reading all of the X-Men books in existence.

The latest Humble Comic Bundle: Peanuts has grabbed my attention. I used to read these things as a kid and still have a soft spot for them.

The BTA is quite pricey at $10 but I may just go all in for the $15 option. It would be nice to have digital copies of all these comics since the old books my parents have are starting to fall apart.

Any other Peanuts fans here?

The Peanuts stuff also pulled at my childhood heartstrings... ha ha

Im still bust with Jessica Jones, on about issue 14 or 15 now, its so different to your average super hero comic... more like a "crime drama" kind of vibe, but with "mutants" but its really well put together... I think in the comics iv read you see her use her powers maybe twice... Im still not even sure what her powers are :wtf:

Also, new Walking dead next week, building up to something HUGE  The covers that iv seen for the upcoming 3 issues are pure madness!
