Seems we will need a motherboard with 4 i7 Cpu's, 32Terrabyte ram, and Quad Sli GTX300 cards just to render the Menu.
My pc bombed from just looking at the screenies.![]()
Crysis was really badly coded IMHO. Warhead wa a bit better.
I Say Hax. and Conspiracy alongside Nvidia and Intel to sell hardware to run the game better.

There's actually nothing wrong with the Cryengine in terms of coding. What really makes Crysis a performance killer is no "optimization". By optimization, I mean loading lower res textures in the distance, having lower res textures to start with, using a skybox for rendering things in the distance, unloading textures when they are not in LOS anymore, unload "detailed" objects in the distance, shave "unnoticeable" polygons off the 3D models etc. etc., all that stuff in most games that gives them the good old popping in effect. Crysis had most of that switched off, it went against what they were going for by trying to "get close to and exceed a CGI movie" and it really does look that good IF you can run it maxxed out with decent FPS.
I'm would guess Crysis 2 would have a lot more of that enabled to make it viable for the console market, along with a lower resolution (600p?) and a mixture of low-medium settings (FarCry 2).
What I'd really like to know is, can I still run Crysis 2 in a Crysis 1 "unoptimized" mode.
Yippeee...i can actually play a crisis properly now with console. My pc is crap so couldn't really play the firts one properly.
