Crysis 2 was most pirated game of 2011

Oh wow I didn't know that!!, especially since it didn't quite live up to most peoples' expectations.

Going to start playing it this week, got mine off orgin of course :p

Replaying it on Supersoldier difficulty.

Most people are morons. IMO Crysis 2 was a better game than the original. Sandbox sections interconnected by shorter linear sections did its story telling a huge favour. But the game isn't balanced for advance stealth play.

Stealth was a bit of a killer - you could sneak/kill your way through most sections.

Not that I'm any tempted to try it on super soldier though :/

Yeah during my original play though on Normal I stealthed it and thought Id try it on Super with all my abilities unlocked (NG+ or what ever its called in Crysis) and actually found that I finished encounters faster than before. So Supersoldier isn't really hard unless you get discovered then Maximum armor does squat.

Not a cent.
If all those who pirated the game paid just 1 USD there would have been total sales of: 3,920,000 USD (3 920 000 U.S. dollars = 31.5991423 million South African rands). That in turn could have been spent on better studio, salaries, bonuses, etc etc.

That was not given to the proper dev house and that is a loss what it could have been used for. Revenue is lost on each person not contribution towards the artist, if you say otherwise you are the fool yourself, if you are part of it then you are clearly not giving, but just taking.

It is wrong to just take in life and not give.

:edit
If you going the whole route of piracy is not just taking or stealing then please don't bother to respond or expect a reply.

Not you you too. The topic of lost revenue was discussed in great detail towards the end of last year, we are not going to rehash it.

As for driving 60 in a 60 zone, which I started to do. You are quite right it should be done in all aspects.

With services like LoveFilm, Netflix and BlinkBox pirating movies and series has become practically obsolete. Only reason to download a new episode of a series is that it hasn't aired in your zone yet. I stream most episodes of series I watch directly off the channels website; BBC Iplayer, 4OD etc.

Exactly, though I'd stream and not steam mine *erm*.

And before you were living in the UK where all that shit is as freely available as breathing is? I'll be doing the same thing when I'm in the UK in 5 months time. Until then .......

You seem to assume in your reply that I support piracy in any way. I don't.

And Patpion's post was technically wrong - it was "potential" revenue that was lost, not actual revenue. You can't assume that everyone that pirated the game was going to buy it, just the same as you cannot assume that not one person who did have a pirated copy bought the game. You made both those assumptions in the bolded statement.

As for the second bolded bit ... Prophet - you should know me better by now. Piracy is theft as a matter of course, and I see it as such - jokes about the original still being there notwithstanding.
