Dark Souls 2 Thread

Cool, just klaared the Persuer. Now onto The Lost Bastille.

actually, no mans wharf beckons...

and yeah, you need to be in Human form, then you will see the white summon signs.

<minor spoiler but actually helpful>

there is a merchant in No Mans Wharf, right at the very top of the mountain. he is on the upper floor of a building infested with long-armed bledder ghouls. his name is Galvan and he is the only person in the game who BUYS stuff and pays you souls. but here is the catch. after you speak to him, he will disappear (and only reappear much later one)! so make absolutely sure you have all the stuff you want to sell on you when you chat to him.

After the Persuer, went directly to Lost Bastille. I saw a bonfire lit it and went to explore a little, now can't get back to bonfire to spend souls from Persuer. =/

No idea where you guys get to no mans warf, completed entire last giants area afaik. Get there from Heide's ?

just managed to kill the Wharf Boss now :-) reached Lost Bastille. whew, its intense. need a bit of a break now.

Lost Sinner is completely handig me my ass, even with summoned help. And now I can't find anyone to summon..

after you kill the Persuer, do NOT take the birds nest shortcut. Go to HEIDES and defeat the boss on the bottom right side (if you standing on that broken walkway). from there, you walk straight on to the Wharf.

I'm now in the Lost Bastille. cleared a path and opened shortcut to boss :D but still to afraid to tackle him :(

Yeah, I didn't see any other way out after defeating The Pursuer. To be honest I was just exploring, I didn't know the nest would do that. Needless to say, I made my way up to the bosses and ERMAGURD!!! (though I couldn't get to some places due to locked gates).
Mind you, if I came from the other way (your way), I wouldn't have access to the bonfire there at the end. Seems like another shortcut, only have to kill like 5 minions to get to the boss.

honestly, this game is about as perfect as i could imagine. its better than Dark Souls in many ways, chief amongst which is the ability to clean up an area of minions. what i have done for a number of bosses is to wipe out all the enemies between the nearest bonfire and the boss. then, its pretty much a clean run to take on the boss with ALL my soul arrows and estus flasks intact :) plus, the ability to fast travel makes a massive difference.

they have not made the game easier, but they have made it far more intuitive. much improved pacing and flow. i have played 6 hours with knight and then swapped to Sorcerer and jammed for another 30 hours. and i'm only on level 7 of 31. and still excitedly discovering new things!

Well said in General and I couldn't agree with you more. BUT, there is one hiccup to the system. The fact enemy stop spawning after being killed x times, limits to your farming. At least to the degree of Dark Souls.

you can burn a certain item in the Bonfire and it will result in ALL enemies respawning, tougher than before :) they have thought of EVERYTHING!

While playing last night I managed to stumble into Huntsman's Copse. A very dark and dismal place.

Be wary of nimble one.

i'm still in Lost Bastille. ready to tackle the Boss, but i think i want to first see what can be seen from the OTHER angle. so gonna teleport back to Forest and then approach L.B. via the Eagle.

I am astounded by the depth and nuance and complexity and subtlety of this game. you could literally miss HUGE chunks of the game and not even know it! and the developers don't plaster big signboards everywhere. it doesnt lead you by the nose and push you from one point to the next. Yes, there is a general linear path to follow, but it has branches and it can be done at your own pace. You could kill the Bastille Boss without ever facing the "first" boss in the Forest!

I had a feeling that I wasn't quite finished in Forest of Giants so I returned and explored. Man those turtle/tortoise knights are fsking me up! I really sickle with those things, but I managed to find the Bastard Sword, not that I can use it =P

wow Dark Souls 2 has quite a few more areas than Dark Souls.I am at level 127 and I still feel weak against certain enemy's.

Dark Souls 2 has utterly RUINED gaming for me :( I am no longer able to play any other games, as they feel shallow and vacuous by comparison

Having said that, there is enough depth and content within DS2 to keep me busy for at least the next 2-5 years, so i don't really mind :)
