Dark Souls 2 Thread

I ended up at work again today (this afternoon), and tomorrow morning I'll be at work again. So maybe I can make some time for this tomorrow afternoon. I really haven't played far at all :(

You'll get there again. :)

I really do hope that you are getting paid for the overtime because to me it looks like you work overtime every weekend.

Chances are that I will only be able to play a little bit tomorrow morning. We've got family coming over for a braai.

You know what boss is freaken hard? The Executioners Chariot. Not only is it very perilous to get to the bridge that leads there but then there's a tough invader and then it's the chariot bit and only then do you fight the boss!

I was so happy when I beat that one.

So not long after that I joined the Sunbros.

And then I helped a couple of people to get to the boss and defeat it.

I've become an expert in that area.

Unfortunately it would appear that I'm too high a soul level now to keep on helping people there and I will have to move on. I love the jolly cooperation and helping people out.

I found him rather easy, but that was because the way I play an area is the second I get there I drop a soapstone...and shortly after I'll be fighting the boss as a phantom, so i get to learn the mechanics that way. You just need to aggro the guys on way to chariot (shortly before bridge) 1 by 1 otherwise the whips can overwhelm you. that and the fat guys during the chariot race will re-summon the skeletons so they are top priority. Once you have that sorted its actually a fairly easy fight. I mean hide and move forward. press a lever, and then you have a VERY basic enemy super vulnerable from his sides.

Ha, I already told you I'm an expert at it now. When you go through that area blind for the first time, it's not easy. And I won't burden other people by becoming a phantom and not knowing what to do. I help out once I know the mechanics.

If I can summon someone then I will but on a Saturday morning 6am there's virtually no one else online.

Best moment in the entire game for me was 30 seconds after I first entered Majula for the first time ever...and the Fire keeper was standing by the tree staring into the distance...a message appeared about 2m behind her as she stood and stared out over the horizon.

This thought provoking message read: try tongue but hole

I had to stop playing for 5 minutes I couldnt stop giggling

Last night I played for about an hour with the sole intention of trying to help people so that I can get sunlight medals.

I only got one summon and the guy went to the bonfire and went somewhere else so I was returned to my world.

I decided to try and invade people. Surprisingly both times I tried to invade I successfully found someone to invade immediately. Unfortunately I lost both times. It's hard when the people you are invading can heal but you can't. I'll have to google that.

I would love to help people though and it's really hard when nobody summons you.

When teleporting to a bonfire/area, look if there's a thicker border around it. If there is, activity is high in that area

I've been doing that but unfortunately it just looks like there aren't that many people playing anymore. I've joined a couple of Dark Souls clubs however and there people post when they need help and where. So I'll try that out.

I also think my soul level or memory may be too high by now. Will test it out play getting further into the game and see if the summoning improves.

The Dark souls wiki has a calculator to show you the soul level range you're in. It might be you're too high, yeah

I had an amazing weekend playing Dark Souls 2.

This is what my character looked like yesterday:

And this is what she looks like at the moment:

I managed to summon 3 npcs for the fight against the big evil spider thing!

I wish the weekend is longer so that I can play some more.

I made it to the Shrine of Amana today. Now with the rugby and things I won't be able to continue until tomorrow. And we've been scheduled to have no power tomorrow from 6am until 12 so I won't have as much time to play tomorrow as I want.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of what my character looks like at the moment. However. here's a picture of the Gutter being all lit up.

Some nice progress Soli, I still hate those status effects and don't know why they can't just take it away or at least give an option to.

Thanks Beo.

Yeah those status effects are bad. Especially the Cloranthy ring.

I made it to the Undead Crypt yesterday. The second bonfire in there.

How cool is that Frog boss? I loved the look of that thing. It wasn't very difficult though as I didn't die fighting against it. But getting to there was tough! All the magic users and melee attackers on the way there were quite a challenge.

Yeah, very cool design. And that area leading up to the boss is just beautiful.

I got this last night. played the intro bit up to Majula. Got something called Channeler's Trident from the nest, apparently it's good...
