Dark Souls 2 Thread

Worked my way through Earthen Peak, Iron Fortress place and now onBelfry Sol. I can't stand these forced summons. Lost plenty souls in Iron Keep, scary how quickly they accumulate in that area. Simple enough to kill the enemies, but that knock back, I almost screamed!!! If my son wasn't sleeping, I would have, so I feel your pain @Wlad :(

the trick wit Belfry sol is to summon a buddy to help in the small room just before the bridge to Belfry. Or from the servants quarters. if you go in alone, you risk being tag-teamed by the damned BellBros covenant

I really need some poison arrows, dunno where I may be able to find em =\

Also, where is Gavlan NPC?
I know he moved from Wharf to poison place, went back there and he's gone again?

I think the merchant in the woods sells poison arrows, IIRC. There where those ghosts attack you just stick to the left and you should find a clearing with him. I think he is just a skull, but keep speaking to him and he will sell you stuff.

The third time I found Gavlan was in the Doors of Pharos area. As soon as you enter the area go up the stairs to the left and you should come to a room with a spiral staircase. That's where I found him.

Haven't played this game in weeks. Constantly losing to the ruin sentinels put me off it. I don't have online, so I have to beat them alone, but I'll try and summon the NPC close to them during the upcoming holiday:(

I'm towards the end of the game, the area where you fight the Ancienct Dragon boss. It's not really the area actually, more what happened there, lol. I had a lot of souls (about 75000) and having fought the boss with someone else (got summoned) moments before, I decided to fight the boss in my own world before spending the souls since he's not really that hard. Right in the middle of the fight my friend starts sending me message after message on my phone and the damn thing just wouldn't stop making noise and vibrating. I lost my concentration and got killed by the boss. When I tried to go back for my souls I was busy aiming at a cyclops with my bow when the next moment the camera zoomed out as I watched myself turn to stone. There had been a basilisk behind me which I missed and there went all my souls. I just lost it that point.

Hm, not sure why you are getting upset lol, sounds like a good Dark Souls experience to me. I would laugh at that situation and say out loud "Ah Dark Souls!". :D

I've so far taken down two bosses in NG+, 1 death so far. Once you start NG+ it's like the game goes "Welcome to the real Dark Souls!". :/

how does NG+ work, in terms of collectibles? Does everything respawn in same place as before?

Yeah everything respawns, there's just new types enemies and they all hit significantly harder (I won't spoil where or what they are :D). Make sure not to transition until you have maxed out armour and preferably weapons as well.

trouble is, Twinkling Titanite is so darned rare :( and all the good stuff requires this for upgrading

What soul level should you be when finishing the game?
Surely there should be a recommended level?
I have a feeling I should be finished with the game, instead I've just ticked over to SL101, soul memory over a mil and close on 70 hours game time?!

Have you been to Dragon Aerie?

Spoiler: show

Going through this area there are a ton of crystal lizards. Makes sure to kill them all, pick up all the loot and kill all the dragons. Go back to the bonfire, use a bonfire ascetic and repeat. Do this a few times times and you'll have more twinkling titanite than you'll know what to do with.

I finished at SL150, but you could finish at much lower than that.

Well that's my fear and that's what I'm noticing too. Currently working on Old Iron guy and managed to slay Belfry Gargoyles last night, on my own! =]

Not yet been to Dragon Aerie, but ...

Spoiler: show

My fear with using a BONFIRE Asecit is that it ranks up enemies ACROSS ALL GAMES. so for example, if i burn 5 ascetics, enemies in the area will be NG+++++ and when i start a proper NG+, these enemies will be NG++++++

Lol.... That's why I've only used one ascetic, I wouldn't suggest stacking them on the same bonfire.

The ascetics don't seem to carry over to NG+. I had to use one in Majula to fix a bug and that pushed it to 2, now in NG+ it's still 2. Also the area I recommended to use it at doesn't get much harder, I used like 10 ascetics there. :D

HOLY FUCK!!!

Excuse the French, but jeeeeeez...... Just destroyed Old Iron King and oh my word I feel good and my palms are sweaty and heart racing.....

Only took about 10 attempts, but I actually did it on my own, other gems I tried summoning.

Defeated some cardinal priests or something and found a big ass stone or iron spider and saw my ass =P

Do you guys try and stay in human or only when you need to?
