Dark Souls 2 Thread

I'm pretty disappointed in NG+

It feels like they just kinda ran out or ideas, there's no creativity. They basically just add more enemies and red phantoms. Sure it makes it more difficult which in turn makes you play more cautious, but it doesn't make you adapt and become creative, I still play the same.

Just my thoughts...

To be fair, there is more to this NG+ than there was in DS1 and DeS. In those games it was just higher difficulty, that's it.

BTW, possible next souls game http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=812089.

Yeah that new game is looking pretty badass, hopefully it is Demon's Souls 2. I would feel sorry for all you guys that don't have a PS4 if it is though, but there should be enough time to save up for one. :p

I did post about it in the original Demon's Souls thread since it appears to be Demon's Souls 2. http://mygaming.co.za/forum/showthread.php/2257-Demon-s-Souls-PS3 If you watch ENB's video about the new game you'll see that some of the lore of the original Demon's Souls does point to this being a sequel for that, at least the working title does.

Haha yeah it wouldn't be out till next year. I'm saving up to get one end of the year anyway. :D

Any of you guys dueling in the arenas? I tried a bit last night but the delay is just too much for me. Anyone here doing a lot of pvp? (I am on PC version)

I don't really PvP outside of getting invaded. I like getting invaded. :D

So the local BT finally woke up and discovered they did have the PC version is stock - albeit it for R599

On the other hand, I hate being invaded. Though I play quite a bit in the blue arenas and part of the Knights of The Blue covenant. I don't experience much lag/delay, also be sure to check your cross-region setting.

where are the arena's ? you talking about when you fight other blue sentinals from the Citadel of Blue ?

My lag is often horrid - this one time I was invaded I got backstabbed while I was climbing a ladder only to be teleported to an earlier section of the map, then back to the ladder - jarring to say the least.

What is this cross-region setting?

Dunno if it applies to PC though, but on console there be a cross-region play option to set from allowed/restricted.

Fuck I think this game has beaten me. I finally managed to make it through the Dragon area and get the ashen mist heart to do the final stretch, but I just can't get to that damn giant miniboss in the memory. Tried for about 40 minutes last night (playing offline), but I can't even reach him. He just kills me with one attack long before I reach him. I'm pretty sure it's all about timing between his attacks and the fireballs that drop in the area, but I've had enough for now. Moving on to Bound by Flame for now.

I found the best way for me was to run at him, wait for him to swing then dodge roll to the side at the last minute. Then simply run up to his feet and stay behind him, block when he swings and chip away at his health in between. Definitely one of the harder fights in the game, took me a good 3 attempts to get him down.

Tough boss and Drummond dies without even scratching him.. Just time the fireballs and run into the space on the left wait and run to the second one. A giant statue head will roll by then run to the boss and up stairs on left, stay in this space dodge his attacks and use ranged attack. Be quick with attacks but don't be greedy. Memory ends vey quickly so make your shots count.

That's the way I did it. Though I would go as far as saying one of the hardest in the game.
Also, I kept to the right when entering this area. That giant head doesn't reach against the wall and just stay there until it past and run straight up underneath the boss. I disregard all the giants up to the boss.

strangely, i found this memory quite easy. I summoned Jugo and used lightening. got rid of the 2 giants first with a few bolts of lightening and then ran towards big boss. jugo was snapping at his heels, and i just kept flinging bolts at him. took damage from fireballs and had to keep healing, but didn't die and killed him on first attempt :)

Haha I did it while hollow so missed the Jugo summon, killed that bastard solo. I'm busy doing a no shield character so fighting him is going to be interesting.

Okay, so I can't give you any tips for dodging the fireballs - that's just a question of timing - BUT what was incredibly useful for me with the giant was to NOT LOCK ON to him. Then get really close to him and DON'T LOCK ON. Weave between his legs, similarly to The Last Giant boss fight and you should be good to go.
