Dark Souls

So is there any major difference with the Prepare to Die addition on PC?

This is still on my list of games to play this year

Prepare to Die Edition was the only version that was released on PC, it includes the Artorias of The Abyss DLC that was built into the PS3 version of the game but was "added" as DLC a year or so later.

I remember went i went to go and buy my copy of DS at bt games. Think it was on special. Got there and it wasnt on the shelf so i asked the guy to look for me and he said they only had the prepare to die edition and that it is a special edition and that its different to the normal one and not on special. Took about 20 min to explain to this guy that there is in fact only one version of the game and that is the prepare to die edition. I had to google and show him that is the only version before he would give it to me at the special price. Idiots

On PS3 you had to buy Dark Souls and later buy the Artorias of The Abyss, which essentially just unlocked the area in-game. But it was definitely worth it, that content is brilliant.

Ah very cool, didn't know that!

Does the game support mods?

I wouldn't worry too much about the scaffolding and such, just get to the bottom asap. There's two bonfire in the area. There's also an interesting NPC and some great armor, have fun in that place!

Need help, just shout :)

Thanks man. As soon as I entered blighttown tonight, I alerted the babarians and then ran up the ladder hoping to snipe them and discovered that they fall off the edge- LOL! After I got rid of those 3 it was actually not too bad getting to the first bonfire.
Those Ghouls are buggers though if they grab you. Need a bit of space to circle them.
Had one question- whats the best way to kill those damn mosquitoes? I'm battling to hit them.

Are you accessing Blighttown from the front or the rear?
(it's easier from the rear)

And try an Axe of some kind!

I went through the depths down the ladder.
Shot, I'll give an axe a go. Don't think I've used one since the beginning actually. I think I have a mace in there as well somewhere. What an outstanding game- I now see why people have put the time in that they have.

I normally access it from the rear, from Drake Valley (think it's called). A lot easier but you would have had to have chosen the master key and gone down to New Londo Ruins and then back up to open the gate.

Daaaaamn, have any of you guys been following Bloodborne? It's a PS4 exclusive by From software, and guys are saying it's a lot like dark souls. Why an exclusive From software, why!!!

Following a tutorial, I actually did a speed run through that route to get the crimson set, before going into the depths. The Crimson set apparently has a high curse resistance and just as blerry well. I fell into one of those open drains into the nest of basilisks! If I didn't have that set I would be crying now.

Beo, is the assessment of Dark Souls II fair?

http://www.lazygamer.net/general-news/dark-souls-2-scholar-of-the-first-sin-looks-really-nice/

I am considering getting the Scholar of the First Sin re-issue and I would like to know your opinion considering that you have sunk so many hours into the game.

Should I start there, or rather stick to Dark Souls I? Bare in mind that I probably won't be able to play both games, so please let me know which one is the best experience overall. Thanks!

@Stagerlee

Which platform are you going for?
Will this be your first Souls experience?

I'll probably go for PC as it's the most accessible for me. I could go for PS3 if necessary because that's the only console I own.

It is my first souls experience, yes.

Note: I use a controller on PC too for most games, especially those that were originally designed for console so the controls will not be a barrier on PC.
